Characters in a story

It's all in the fun. We're big people watches too. We do that sometimes too, but my DH and I usually try to figure out who other people look like... like a mix between Cameron Diaz and Jennifer Garner...or something.

DW and I do something sort of like this. Our game is..... "If Rolf (the piano playing dog from the muppets) and John Belushi had a baby it would look like Hurley from the Lost Series".

That have truly stood out in my mind more than others.

New Years Cruise/Elation 2008 "Joe Dirt". total redneck, first cruise and was good for a laugh the whole cruise. Totally wore a shirt (or several) that has the sleeves ripped off, with Joe Dirt embroidered on it. He was crazy but we all had a great time with him.

New Years Cruise/Spirit 2009 "The Crazy Lady" and everyone on the ship called her that. You could walk by any group and sooner or later they were talking about the "crazy lady". This lady wore matching clothes, shoes, oversized sunglasses and a hat everyday. Her behavior was so out there. She was dancing and girating all over the stage on New Years Eve and at one show poor Stu the CD had to have her escorted out of the show room.

Anyone on this cruise would know who I'm talking about. We couldnt decide if she was drunk, high or just out there somewhere..

HAT LADY...Carnival Paradise...Oct 2002

This "lady" worn a HUGE black hat the ENTIRE cruise...at the pool...in the dining room...in port...and always wore high heels...even if she only had a bathing suit on...oh yeah....and a different guy on her arm everytime we saw her.

One time she was dancing on the lido deck stage with her HAT and bikini and another passanger actually went on stage on TOOK HER HAT OFF! The crowd went wild!

The thing is, i don't think I would recognize her without it...lol

A few others:

The Colorful Family (have actually seen them on 2 cruises...lol)

Stocker Dude

You can bet than ANYONE who would be stupid enough to use "you got a big butt" as a pick up line would get nowhere near my trunk...and the junk is just right out!!! Jeeze. Idiots are everywhere, though, I guess
that's the funniest thing i have read in awhile, lol.:D

Lol it's true though! It annoys me and I don't tolerate guys that use pick up lines too well;)

I think they call us the giant family. I am shortest at 5'9", DD(13) is 5'10", DH is 6'4" and DS (15) is 6'5". You should see the looks we get when people get in the elevator with us or when we stand up to leave a restaurant. Some even make a comment on it as one boy did in the last hotel we stayed at. He was going into the elevator as we were leaving. He looked up and said "Man, you guys is tall!"

I would feel extra short next to you guys! I'm only 5'3 1/2" and yes the 1/2" counts!:p

Have a few that stick out.

After a fantastic week on the Fantasy, while doing the self disembark and the little guy in front of us with like 6 suitcases just complained and moaned the entire time about the line... He became George Jefferson.

Then on one stop, this young lady who I had became friends with, we are from the same area, would flash the bartender at the pier bar and we would all get free drinks. That payed off double, I got an eyefull and a free drink.... Flasher girl

Same girl same cruise on night said I was the coolest old dude she had ever met, so for the rest of the cruise I was....Cool Old Dude

I love that I am not alone in my people watching. My sister and I would make up whole stories about people in the airport or train station. We picked out the two clandestine lovers pretending not to know each other in public, the suicidal jumper at the edge of the train tracks, the straight laced librarian by day on the way to her strip club job for the evening. Whole stories and plot lines are created by the time we reach our destination. I have even had to get up and head toward the bathroom on a plane to make note of the people we were generating story lines for. DH thinks we are nuts!

Who cares what someone else calls you... what they label you - i sure know I have been called much worse on cruise critic:rolleyes:

anyway ... we usually name them celebrities.. Like this one guy who was about 50- looked like he could go a few rounds..bad plastic surgery. We called him Micky Roarke!

I Love your names. I people watch but never put names to them. Will have to do that for laughs. Cruising on Pride in 2 week can't wait.

Most of our people are based on either people we know or famous people. On our first cruise we had Elaine Stritch and Christine Ebersole among about 5 others who had the names of people we knew at home. We've even gone one further and taken inconspicous photos of some these people to complete our cruise album.

When we're looking at our photos in the photo gallery, we also enjoy looking around and seeing everyone else's photos. We always manage to see Weezy Jefferson, Maude, nasty old woman, etc.

I'm so glad to know that we are not the only ones who make our own fun this way. Now the only question left is...I'm wondering which character I am to others???? :) :)

I thought me and dh were the only one who did this;) Here are some from our last cruise on the Fascination.

Principal Okonski--This guy gave off a principal vibe during the day,but in the nightclub:eek: Lets just say he was one that you couldn't take your eyes off

Lost Girl--This lady was obviously a solo cruiser, but she always looked lost anytime we saw her and we saw her alot. She looked lost whether we were on ship or in port. It was weird.

The dude who wears his wife shoes-- Really he did. One day she would wear them and the next he would wear them. It takes my hubby(who is a shoe fanatic) to notice this. They stared at us alot anytime we saw them,so maybe they had a name for us too:)

Love doing this. I think we can't help it. There are always passengers that just stick out!!

Lol sounds like one of my close friends. The entire time we were on the Freedom she looked lost even when she was walking with the rest of us!:D Come to think of it she looks like that everywhere we go:confused:

Yes, I can see how this could be fun, but then I think, hum wonder how people are labeling me. Do you ever wonder what the people watchers are labeling you?

Who really cares? This is all for fun. It is great to notices peoples' "differences". It is what makes the world go round and vacations more fun!;)

My husband and I love to people watch. Our favorite game is "Wife dressed him, dressed himself" It's great harmless fun. After many years we've had to create a new category... wife bought his clothes but dressed himself. LOL

We also nickname people based on observation. Barbie and GI Joe, Pepe Le Pu and Cafe Aulet (sp) they always wore berets, etc. We mean no ill will at all. :)

We do this too- but on our first cruise we had Random Guy.

This one guy we would see hanging out all over with all different people. He would be with young nerdy kids, then an hour later with a woman, then later with a bunch of frat type kids, then with really little kids...it was weird! We wondered how many pics he showed up in at peoples homes!

We still talk about "Drunk Lady" from our first cruise 3 years ago. We met her while we were standing in line to board the ship and she kept falling over on us....but never spilled her spiked big gulp. We seriously saw that woman everywhere we went...including our excursions.....and she was always drunk. She was funny.

On our second cruise we encountered "Nude Beach Dude."
