Royal Caribbean killed my dog!

Insist that your next dog must be allowed in the Concierge Lounge or you will be looking for another cruiseline.

I was told that due to recent changes to the C&A program, the free Happy Hour Alpo has been discontinued. However, a secondary location has been made available where we can find Alpo at a reduced rate.

Not only is it Alpo at a reduced rate - it is only dry Alpo, not at all like the canned Alpo served in the Concierge lounge. Nor do they put the dog treats on the bed at night, unless you are in a GS or better.

Well, maybe not. But your pony also doesn't participate in revenue generating activities like the bar, bingo, art auctions, spa treatments and since there is no horse racing - the casino. Therefore, while your pony may eat less, it also doesn't produce as much revenue. And don't forget, they have to hire an extra person for the free "poop patrol" (don't forget, you really should tip them).

You are making unfounded assumptions about what my pony does on board. I'll have you know we have taken advantage of the Port-day specials in the spa on several occasions. They have great deals on the honey and oatmeal facials...and since my pony insists on licking the oatmeal off, we should really get an additional discount because there isn't as much work for the spa employees.

 

PLUS, you will find us in the Schooner bar most nights performing together. That's free entertainment for the other guests. Wee call ourselves, "Hull and Oats"

Scott, I am afraid that I can tell you why Royal Caribbean killed your dog.

 

It was a St. Bernard, wasn't it? And he was carrying smuggled booze in that cask under his neck, wasn't he? And he was caught, right?

 

They tell you that they reserve the right to destroy confiscated booze, AND the container it is smuggled in.

 

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

All outside dog food is not allowed. You have to buy it one bowl at a time at the closest bar.

 

If you want to enjoy the dog food in your own room, you will have to take it from the bar back to your stateroom.

 

Don't forget about the 15% gratuity that is added to all dog food orders automatically.

 

I heard that if you tip the dog food bartender well the first day, you'll get better dog food and the occasional free bowl during the rest of the cruise.

 

Can someone confirm that for me?

You have to buy it on board - however, if you put the food into plastic baggies you might be able to smuggle it on board. Just remember, if you get caught you will have to go to the naughty room.

You can blame all these restrictive policies on those spring break cruisers. I mean, come on, who isn't going to notice all those mouthwash bottles that have been filled with alpo?

 

Luckily, they only confiscated my St. Bernard and I got him back at the end of the cruise.

 

Next time I'm going to try one of those Alpo-runners I've been reading about...

Occupants of the K9 suite get concierge access, discount vouchers for the dog grooming parlor, and complimentary C&A logo dog wear. Please state size and breed of dog when ordering through gifts & gear. This suite is only available on Oasis class ships.

Didn't they discontinue the concierge lounge access in this promotion? I mean, sure, the once-a-day dog treats are nice, but the concierge access was the best part of this, now defunct, promotion.

If you are eating in the speciality resturant, your dog should be at least 12 years old - otherwise they are too young and will bother others looking for a romantic dinner.

 

Did you know that if your dog is the 3rd passenger in the cabin they will have to pay more than you! :D

 

Ah but dont forget that every dog year is equivalent to 7 for a human so it could be a case of age discrimination but at least they might get an over 55 discount!

Don't worry, we'll stick to the specialty restaurants. From all I have read about the food quality in the MDR, it doesn't sound like the food in there is even fit for him.:D:D

 

Yes make sure that your dog orders the Chops filet. You know that one that isn't USDA Prime but more like shoe leather according to the Carnival riders.;)

Well, I had a completely different experience. Royal Caribbean saved my dog's life. In fact, they've saved my dog's life on every one of the 273 cruises I've taken. It must have been your fault that your dog died.

I believe that I read somewhere that puppies are not allowed in either the pool or hot tub. Not even with doggie diapers. The minimum age for all pools would be 3 years. :p:D Maybe RCI could name one of their future ships Canine of the Seas.
