Question about tipping for room service

While I've cruised a few times in the past, I've rarely ordered room service. Each time, I'd tip the person who brought the food to our cabin. Is this the correct way to handle this? I'm thinking yes, only because I notice there was a different person each time.

Who else would you tip - because they do not ask for your S&S card you do not add it on so it is only cash. Continue doing what you are doing and you will be fine.

And we also! It is always nice to meet the additional crew members when we have room service and they DESERVE the tip.

Yes---tip at time of delivery. Usually, it's kitchen staff who do room service...and they deserve whatever you give them!

I usually get a 'stack' of twenty $1 dollar bills especially for room service tipping - comes in very handy! :D:D

We bring about $150 in ones and fives to tip for room service and other tips during the cruise. We usually come back with some cash, enough to pay for the cab ride home, including tip.

We usually tip $2.00 each time. That's for coffee in the morning.

Many tip $1-2 per order, just depends on how many people are in the room and how much you order.

We tip 1-2 bucks depending upon how much me and dw will order.

 

Usually we only do breakfast so make sure we have a few bucks out and available cause most of the time the knock is my wake up call.

I agree - $1-2 is usually adequate - when I travel solo I base it on the 'weight/volume' of the trays? ha ha ha And yes I learned the hard way not to keep those $1 bills in the safe. So when you're half asleep and the knock comes you are not fumbling for tip money!

I tip them with a key chain or other similar item from Detroit, that is better than cash.;)

I do the same, but mine are $2.00 bills, just for tipping.
