Another vote for the ice bar!!

My top 5 to do list runs like this... Ice Bar, Cirque, Blue Man group (although for some reason I never wanted to see them on land, they intrigue me at sea!) :p Legends, Churrascaria (sp?) although there is so much to choose from. This is the main reason for us doing this cruise over so many of the others out there, the entertainment alone.

Here's wishing everyone a fantastic cruise! :)

Ice Bar for me too!! Hope you can choose your "included" drinks. Would love to have a martini there! I just wonder how you can be guaranteed to get in there with so few people allowed at one time and only open 5hrs each night???

For me, Spice H2O, hands down! Wait! ...Hands up! Everybody put your hands up...!!!! The view, the dancing under the stars, the wind keeping you cool, the lights, the sunsets, the grill, finally....an AFT pool area! It seems to offer everything day and night for me. I will live there all week long.

Everything about EPIC intrigues me.

  • The vast variety of accommodation.
  • 20+eating venues
  • EPIC Plunge
  • All the entertainment

I will be at the EPIC Inaugural on 22 June for two days and will be posting up-to date info about Cirque de Soleil and Blue Mans group.

I would definitely like to try the Spa and Ice Bar. Two days will give us the taster of what EPIC is really like.

So keep tuned to the Twitter and this forum to learn more about EPIC with the first hand knowledge.

Several things.

The fact: of a brand new mega-ship with the smell of fresh paint.

How the Epic handles the sea.

If the problem of excessive number of passengers is solved.

If the quality of service and cuisine is good and consistent throughout the ship.

If there are some nice places to enjoy sailing on this ship.

If I will like this ship and want to sail again.

Not that I disagree with you (the passenger flow issue intrigues me), but none of those points are facts but assumptions/questions. A fact is "the Epic was delivered on June 17" or "she is 1,068ft long", questioning whether NCL will do a good job launching the ship isn't a fact.

I totally agree, plus the fact that it is "Adults only" should make it an ideal spot to relax, and enjoy!

I am all for Spice! I hope it lives up to it's name and the music is bass pounding and the light show is spectacular after the sun sets. As NCL says... "Everything is HOTTER when the sun goes down!" :D

I'm trying to figure out how I'm going to do this trip with only 4 hours of sleep per night.

I was concerned about the limited sleep problem or missing some fun... I decided to fix that problem and we book a Back to Back voyage. We will sleep Saturday. :-)

Hi, have checked out the Ice Bar -- I'm onboard this weekend! -- and it's really really cool (literally and figuratively). There's a menu of about four or five set drinks, all variations on the martini theme.

Best bet to make sure you get in is to make a reservation. I tried to get in tonight for the first "round" (started at 5 p.m.) and it was already wait listed! Mind you, this is a two nighter for travel agents and such and so fees aren't levied. May well be easier to get into when there's that $20 cover.

Not sure if y'all have seen our UK blog -- but we're posting from Epic through Thursday. It's here: http://cruisecriticuk.wordpress.com/.

And Cruise Critic's UK editor Kelly Ranson is hosting a Q&A on this forum -- jump over and ask any other questions there!

Thanks all for participating in our poll!

Hopefully she looks better in real life than in catalogs.

I think the idea is that you sleep in it not with it.

My working gear isn't pretty but it is really practical.

I'll be on the Epic next Thursday when it leaves for New York or not as the case maybe. The latest news from Rotterdam is that it has propeller shaft issues and can only sail to Southampton at reduced speed.

As I wrote in other threads and as has been echoed here....

I AM NOT GOING TO SLEEP!! Much.....:)

Wonder how late the casino is open? Because I will be going to 2/3 shows a night and will need to fit it in at 2AM. Maybe I'll drop less $$$$...:D

Hey all,

I'm new to cruising so everything is exciting for me but I'm really curious about the rappelling wall. I've never done that before and to be able to say I did it at sea seems so cool.

On a side note, I don't understand the people who keep posting on this thread about how ugly the ship is, especially since they're not even booked on it. Why try to bring people down about their upcoming vacations.

Exterior design leave something to be desired, pretty ugly.....RCCL make em' Big and Beautiful....

I hope the new ship meets everyones expectations but sorry to say "that is one ugly ship". I'll wave to you all from the QM2 in October.

Enjoy and bon voyage

Sheesh

I can't sleep - I'll be boarding in 10 hours!!!!!

Let's see what am I "most" excited about? How about a list:

1. Watching the wife thru the frosted glass in the cabin and flashing the camera when she's in there!

2. Finding out if my Cirque dinner show will be in Spanish and if they're going to honor my premium seating reservation

3. Wondering if they fixed the propeller shaft yet?

4. Seeing how many people we can squeeze into a family balcony cabin?

5. Watching all the CC posters fighting for internet access to post THEIR pictures from the ship.

I mean look at all the excitement!
