Tipping the Porter ?????

When in Barcelona do you tip the porter with us dollars or euros:confused:

Euros would be preferable since this is the local currency. If you do not have any, you could use USA currency versus not giving a tip but I would highly recommend giving them a tip in Euros.

It is good manners to tip people in the currency of their country, particularly in Europe and areas of the world away from the US and Caribbean. I'm not sure how appreciative a US porter would be if a tip was offered in Euros or pounds sterling.

People who work in the travel industry in Europe are very saavy - most we have come in contact with have money in many currencies -- so tipping in dollars is no problem for such services.
