Pre Cruise Hotel in Venice Question

Does anyone know about the Hilton Molino Stucky Hotel in Venice? Would you recommend this hotel? Is it close to the Venice Cruise Terminal? Thanks!

Every hotel in venice is close to the cruise terminal. Problem is the Hilton is on a separate island -Guidecca- so the most convenient way from hotel to cruise port is water taxi- about 10 minutes but pricy (They are really limousines)

Copy and paste these co-ordinates into google earth or maps and you will be at the Hilton. 45.428197,12.319324

The water taxi dock at the cruise terminal is 1.2 miles to the NNW

Many people find the Piazzale Roma area to be very convenient for pre/ post cruise hotels. It's close to the pier, the Grand Canal and bus stop to the airport. This web site lists several hotels for this area and others. Actually it's a very helpful site if you take the time to browse thru the information.

Other sites for a hotel search are tripadvisor.com or venere.com where you can do a search by map and also read opinions from other travellers. I've seen the Best Western Olimpia and Arlecchino mentioned positively in this forum.

I have a client who stayed at the Hilton Molino Stucky in September and she recommended it highly. It seems as though she mentioned that the hotel had a shuttle service to "Venice proper". You might want to contact them and inquire about that.

Yes, the hotel has a boat "shuttle" that goes across from the Giudecca to the rest of Venice.

The hotel may be a nice one but for a first visit to Venice it is not a convenient location--IMO.

IT IS one of the few hotels in Venice that often comes up on Priceline if that is why you are interested in it.

Fabulous hotel but as others have said, it is not in Venice proper. If you are looking at that level of a hotel I suggest the Bauer hotel, very close to Piazza San Marco.

Also, a water taxi from the cruise port to Piazza San Marco (or vice versa) is about 100 euros.

I highly recommend the Hilton Molino Stucky, a beautiful hotel. The private hotel water taxi runs on a 1/2 hourly schedule across the channel and turned out to be very convenient. To reach the hotel from the airport you can take the Alilaguna which stops right at the hotel.
