Casino makes a lot of money off them.

For example blackjack costs $ 20 to enter and they give away 500 no matter how much they collect.

Once they reach breakeven pure profit for the casino.

Lucky for me tourney is free.

$500 prize money for the Slot tournament as well. At $20 per entry they make money starting on the 26th paying person. One of the Platinum perks is an entry into either the BlackJack or Slot tournaments.:)

Paradise 3 & 4 day have both the BJ and slot tournamnet.

Spirit had 2 slot and at least one BJ tournament on our 7 day in March.

afcj1- the slot tounaments are easy. Pay your money, get on the schedule and sit at a machine. When the time starts hit the button until the 5 minutes is over. On the Paradise and Spirit the top winners are entered into the final. There is one spot available for a 'wild card' winner in the final.

Thanks for the info. If it's offered on the Imagination, I'll try it out. Won't get the Plat perk until the Magic in Oct:)

Well boys and girls, me and dw just off the Destiny and you're lookin at the slot tournament champion. 500 big ones, a tee shirt, hat and a ship on a stick that says Slot Tournament Champion. Probably the most exciting 5 minutes other than the craps table, :) They have sign ups for every 20 minutes until all entries are completed. Then they go to final 7 and one wild card. Very, Very exciting. Well worth the 20 dollar entry fee. This next cruise we will be PLATINUM BABY and the tournament will be FREE :D.

Fun, fun, fun!

Cash, ship on a stick, shirts, watches................

It ain't over 'till it's over either.

My wife had the lead in the last one by thousands of points with just seconds to go. The slot hostess (should read slot hottest) was hovering around her to announce the win when another player hit a jackpot and edged her out. Literally by a few seconds.

Disappointing but we still got a ton of freebies and a pat on the back.

They have the tournament machines set to win about every spin so it gets you hooked on playing with a false sense of success.

However, we did hit a few jackpots and did walk out of there with a bunch of Carnivals money.

(and the watch!)
