kcbutterfly Posted March 25, 2011 #1 Share Posted March 25, 2011 If I have Funtimes from the same Liberty route in September, can I expect the shows to be the same when I sail in June?
happy cruzin Posted March 25, 2011 #2 Share Posted March 25, 2011 Usually yes! The production shows do not change very often because of the expense - so I would expect them to be the same. The other shows - comedians, etc may be different.
*Mach* Posted March 25, 2011 #3 Share Posted March 25, 2011 They change seldom... every few years or so... :)
steveNcindy Posted March 25, 2011 #4 Share Posted March 25, 2011 If I have Funtimes from the same Liberty route in September, can I expect the shows to be the same when I sail in June? We have been on 3 Carnival cruises - Legend 2x, Miracle once - all doing the 8 day run from FLL. 2005, 2006 and 2010 and every cruise had the Christopher Allan Graves show. I will answer you as "not often"
Aeeo Posted March 25, 2011 #5 Share Posted March 25, 2011 On my Behind the Fun Ship Tour on the Triumph 11/2010 they said they change the dancers out every 3 to 6 months. They did not say anything about the shows however. Jay
DAP2 Posted March 25, 2011 #6 Share Posted March 25, 2011 This was addressed on the Behind the Fun tour I took on the Dream. They explained that the large backdrops are actually slid into the ship AS it is being built. Therefore, it is VERY difficult to remove as they have to be carried out piece by piece. For that reason and due the associated expense, it is easier for Carnvial to move the ship to a new home port than it is to change the shows. Sort of like comics who say it is easier to get a new audience than a new set. The shows remain for years, as a poster stated above. Hope that's helpful. golfadj Posted March 26, 2011 #7 Share Posted March 26, 2011 If you come back in say 4 years would probably see the same shows.
Sargent_Schultz Posted March 26, 2011 #8 Share Posted March 26, 2011 Seems like whenever there is a new ship there is a new show or two. I think Magic will have 3 new shows. If you want new shows, book the new ships.
Sevencruiser Posted March 26, 2011 #9 Share Posted March 26, 2011 Unfortunate if you change debarkation ports and the shows "follow" you. I could do without the talking couch again. But looking forward to the "80's" (don't know the shows name) show.
PAPERBKWRITER Posted March 26, 2011 #10 Share Posted March 26, 2011 'Bout as often as you change cars.
sandij Posted March 26, 2011 #11 Share Posted March 26, 2011 Two years between cruises on the Miracle, same shows.
PA Dutchman Posted March 27, 2011 #12 Share Posted March 27, 2011 I don't think they change them anymore. Some ships have the same show.
rdler Posted March 27, 2011 #13 Share Posted March 27, 2011 I've taken many cruises on Carnival. I've never seen the production shows change. They are making the passengers do more and the comedy clubs are new. I think they have really cut back in this area. It's kind of sad, actually. golfadj Posted March 27, 2011 #14 Share Posted March 27, 2011 This is why it is good when they move ships around. Get to go to the same port for new ship and hopefully new shows.

H82seaUgo Posted March 27, 2011 #17 Share Posted March 27, 2011 answer: not enough. and then you jump around the ships, and find they've been moved to your ship. i swear the cab from one of those shows had wheels, and was following me, as well as christopher allan graves. Name Of The Game Posted March 27, 2011 #18 Share Posted March 27, 2011 Same thing happened to us. We saw The Big Easy on the Triumph in '08, on the Legend in '09, and on the Freedom in '10. Good thing we enjoyed the show! :D

If you like that type of music he is fine but have seen his show enough to last us for the next 20 plus years.

*Mach* Posted March 27, 2011 #22 Share Posted March 27, 2011 I've asked Chris Prideaux, Director of Onbaord Entertainment for Carnival, to send me an updated list of the production shows on each ship. I'll post it as soon as I hear back from him. :)
grnyel05 Posted March 28, 2011 #23 Share Posted March 28, 2011 When I was on Elation in 2009 I flipped through the book in the cabin about the ship that came out when the ship first launched in 1998. It had all of the original crew members of the ship and described the production shows--Rhythm and Spin. These were the same production shows that we saw on our sailing in 2009, so it looks like the shows stay on for quite awhile.
