Smoking Areas on Solstice

I am a non smoker and I was wondering if anyone could tell me if there are certain places on the Solstice that are public smoking areas or any bars, lounges etc that allow smoking? Are people allowed to smoke on their balconies?

Don't hate on me for asking I just feel better if I can avoid it as much as possible.

Smoking on balconies or in staterooms is not allowed. The only inside space which allows smoking is one part of one lounge, otherwise all inside venues are non smoking, including the casino. The exact location of the outside areas which allow smoking will be spelled out on board. It is very easy to avoid them as you move about the ship.

The smoking areas are Port side, Deck 5 outside the area where the Bistro on Five is located, Port side outside on the Pool Deck, but not in the Solarium, Starboard side at the Mast Bar, and Starboard side at the Sunset Bar. This area is the only cigar/pipe area. The only inside smoking is the Port side in the Sky Lounge.

My DW & I are very much bothered by smoke so thanks for pointing out where the smoking areas are on the outside decks. We are planning on a balcony cabin on the Solstice and don't want it to be a major issue.

The tips from PAX's on this board are greatly appreciated.

You do realize that you somehow dredged up a thread that's from 2011? Celebrity's smoking policy has changed a lot since this thread was started. There's absolutely no indoor smoking on any Celebrity ship.

For the comfort and enjoyment of our guests, our ships are designated as non-smoking; however, we recognize that some of our guests smoke. Therefore, cigarette, cigar and pipe smoking is permitted in designated outdoor areas of the ship. Smoking is not permitted in any dining venue, casino, theater, lounge, hallway, elevator or corridor. This policy includes smoking-like products such as electronic cigarettes.

Smoking is not permitted inside any guest stateroom, nor on any guest veranda. If a guest is in violation of this policy, a cleaning fee of $250 USD will be applied to their SeaPass account and the guest may be subject to further action pursuant to the "Consequences Section" of the Guest Conduct Policy. Cigarettes, cigars and pipe tobacco must be properly disposed of and never thrown overboard. A guest must be at least 18 years of age to purchase, possess or use tobacco onboard.

Additionally, there is a non-smoking policy on all components of the land tour portion of all Celebrity Cruises CruiseTour products. We appreciate your understanding and adherence.

NOTE: The outdoor smoking areas will be listed in the Celebrity Today (available onboard).

Below are the common smoking areas on Solstice. Areas subject change at the ship's discretion.

  • Deck 15 - Sunset Bar - Aft port side (This is the only cigar and pipe smoking area on the vessel)
  • Deck 14 - Starboard side next to the Mast Bar
  • Deck 12 - Aft port side
  • Deck 5 - Port side

I'm always amazed at how people do this...

But Don, how many times have you seen someone who starts a new thread (especially on an oft-discussed topic) blasted for not using the "search" function? Sometimes, you just can't win for losing....;)

.just remember when you walk out on to the pool deck -12- to make sure you use the starboard doors - the port side is often a huge gathering of smokers and unpleasant for non smokers to walk through
