Capt. Sindre will return to RD on November 15. He has extended time home to be with his wife and new baby. His rotation will end Jan 21, 2013.

 

As much as we miss Capt. Claus we have taken an immediate liking to Capt. Bill. He's nice, interesting, and fun and more. The crew really seems to love him, too.

Since Captain Sindre has an extended time home, will they do 10 week rotations after he returns or will he have an extended rotation? I am trying to figure out who may be our captain for the June 21, 2013 sailing.

he will owe Capt Bill an equal amount of time off. He could work 11 or 12 week rotations while Capt Bill does just a 10 week. Or, as is the case on Brilliance right now, the stf cpt could master while waiting for the regular captain to report for duty.

I know that Sindre will be onboard for the June 21st sailing. Then he will be leaving on June 28th. (I believe he gets onboard April 9, 2013.)

yes, he did but he did a short stint on RD to help out. Now he's off for a break before going back to NV. The Stf Capt is currently mastering NV to bridge the gap.

Haha - for the record that was someone else's description. I guess it does apply to a lot of men so that was a safe description.

Capt. Thore comes off much differently than the description we got of him. He's a handsome, personable man. U didn't ask specific dates but he will be on Freedom "the end of" September until "right before Christmas".

 

Capt. Wright is expected back in Seward on Friday.

On Radiance quite often officers and entertainers board in Juneau for ease of getting to and from the airport. It's a bit of a hassle getting from Anchorage to Seward and the flight times aren't always the greatest either.

 

Maybe the Capt. W is brushing up on his skills while Capt. C is still on board. :) Although I really doubt this is the case, he hasn't been in the rotation for a while.

Alaska is so hard to get around by roads. No roads go to Juneau. I remember in 2010 one of the Senate candidates campaigned by taking a cruise.

Alaska is actually very easy to get around. Alaska has an excellent ferry system for both walk on passengers and for those with vehicles including RVs. Many popular attractions are primarily accessible by highways and the scenery along the way is beautiful. Not only do you see remarkable natural scenery but also some amazing wildlife. The ferry takes over where the roads do not go. Juneau also has an international airport that would be very easy for cruise ship staff, crew, entertainers, etc get from the airport to the port.

We are on the Brillance and Captain Henrik has been back on for a couple of weeks now, early. He wasn't supposed to come back from vacation until 9/8/12, but the other Captain's wife is having a baby and he went home 4 weeks ago, according to crew. Staff Captain handled it for 2 weeks and then Captain Henrik came back on.

I can confirm that Capt Johnny is on Allure. His first week back was the 8/19 cruise that was rerouted due to T.S. Isaac, picked up 58 Haitians, then was extended two days due to the T.S.

 

However, in our picture with the Captain on formal night, the border still said Capt Tommy Nyseter. :)
