OK, you've got me totally hooked. I can't wait for the rest. My daughter is 5, and I'd love to do a mommy/daughter cruise one day.

I'm looking forward to the rest of the review. I know it will be a great one because you seem to have such a good outluck and fun attitude.

Thank you for the sweet words of kindness... I do love life, It's so much better to have a great outlook and fun attitude on life then to just be a bump on a log... You've got to grab life by the horn and just go for it.... My favorite saying is... "Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass, It's about learning to dance in the rain!!!" Love it!!!

You will have so many years to have Mother/Daughter trips, so go for it... No matter what... Taylor Swift writes a song about "BEST DAY" It's about her mom, that's Rae and I's song!!!! Search for it and listen to it... That's what it's all about....

Thanks for reading... Lots more to come...

I'm an orphan. Will you adopt me?:D

You sound like you'd have a good time anywhere.

HAHA... You made me laugh... Loved it, Yes, I'll adopt you!!!!

We have so much fun, plus I love doing great things with my boys!!!! They are the best tooo... In August, I'm going to a Dallas Soccer match with my middle son... I don't even watch soccer but that's his favorite... So "GOALLLLLLLLLLLLLL"

Thanks for reading...

That's the perfect plan and I only think the decorations we're $35.00... A maybe wrong, but... Again, you order it off the Carnival Website... I tab called Special Occasions... I thing :rolleyes:

If you can't find it, just let me know and I'll search for it...

Have a super fabulous day, Cruise_Q!!!!!!!

Yep, looks like Conquest reviews are few and far between so I appreciate your taking the time to give your input on the ship. We sail on her next March.

The best thing about your review, though, is seeing how excited your daughter is about travelling with her Mom. It's heartwarming. And this was indeed a loving thing for your husband to do for the two of you.

Can't wait to read the rest of the review!

Boy do I know about the oil field... We are so busy. Which makes for nice job security. Ha ha!

I almost forgot about looking up through the atrium and seeing the slide tower over! Great picture!!! The food looks yummy too! I absolutely loved the chocolate buffet!

More great review!! Thanks for sharing with us, I'm reliving my Conquest cruise, which was my 1st. :)

I have a good amount of family in Midland. Haven't been there though in about 6 yrs, since pregnant with my youngest. We see them, but we meet in Kerrville where my grandparents live.

Yes, we love job security right now... Matter of fact he's in Midland all this week. I have't seen him since Sunday night. You know I didn't have desert buffet at all, just had desert in MDR... I have lots of food porn to come, I took almost 1000 pictures but of course I'm not posting all of them.

This one was my second on Conquest. It was lots of fun.

I loved Midland, although I haven't lived there since 2000. But go there quite often for football, and so my kids can see their dad... That would be a really long drive from Houston to Midland. It's really long from Houston to Abilene... Expecially when I take the long way!!!

So we spent a little time in our room…

LITTLE!!!!!!

She was ready to roam around again… Do you see a pattern here… Hahah.

So off we went, out onto Deck 10, down the stairs and onto the Lido deck, and boy was it starting to hop!!!!! Finally the excitement was there. Time to join in the fun… We found our favorite table over by the window on portside and had a seat to watch for the boys!!! Not me just Rae, I was just enjoying people watching…

So these next few pictures may raise a few eyebrows: so please don’t judge me…

I’m not a party animal at all, as a matter of fact I don’t drink very often and I don’t even have alcohol in my house or beer in my refridge... I’m just a "Good Ole Southern Baptist Girl" that follows the rules!!!! But on vacations I do want one of those yummy fruity drinks in a fun glass with an umbrella in it or a really cold Corona Beer with a lime as I sit on the beautiful white beach… (Sounds like a Corona Beer commercial)… So I’m on vacation, and yes, It’s time for the DOTD!!!! Rum Punch… .

So this bartender walks by and says, “Sister’s you need a Rum Punch to start your cruise off…” "You need a little Booze in your cruise!!!!” Hahaha

"Sure" I said,

He said, “2”,

I said, “no just 1 for now…”

I gave him my sign and sail card and he handed me my yummy fruity umbrella drink… YES!!!! It was good.

Now Rae has tried a few cocktail – Margaritas, a swirl, or something like that but other than that she’s made really good choices and doesn’t drink. But on the cruise I decided that I would let her have a DOTD as we sail away from Galveston… Here’s a few pictures..

038.jpg

Time for Muster Drill.... They told us no camera's or cell phones... Notice Rae followed the rules....

Now it's time to sail away!!!!!!! Hurry Hurry Hurry, up to the Lido Deck...

Time for sail away...

I called Charlie to make sure he was watching and of course he was... He was ready to watch his girls leave on their awesome vacation... LOVE HIM!!!!

Here's a picture of port...

043.jpg

When the Captian pull in this morning he pulled in Portside so this meant that we had to pull out and turn around so we could leave the harbor.

So these next 2 pictures are of us turning around and we thought that we would almost hit this other dock. But no, the Captian is an awesome driver...

We had such a great time at the "Sail Away Party" It was so cool to watch Galveston disappear... Rae thought it was just so awesome. Although she couldn't stand how the water looked... It was so chocolate milk color... She couldn't wait for the blue water...

After hanging around on the decks for about 45 minutes we head back to our room to sit on the balcony and wait for our luggage, but when we got to our room our luggage was there... YES!!!! Time to unpack.

055.jpg

Rae took these two picture of this tanker because her big brother's name is Eric...

Dinner time

Time for dinner....

Now I know that you don't have to dress up for dinner except for formal night but Rae and I love to dress up. The only place to really dress up in Abilene is the Country Club and we usually eat in the family room there. So It's dress up night for us...

We are so excited... I think I packed way to many dress and I know WAY to many shoes.... remind you 4 bags between the 2 of us... UGGGGGGG....

I tried to unpack but we were running out of time and we didn't want to be late, (we are always on time, I can't stand people who are late... that's just rude. (sorry I hope I didn't hurt anyone's feeling)

065.jpg

Rae looked great and I did tooo. We just didn't get a picture of me. Off to the Monet we went, for early dining. Up the stair on Deck10 all the way across to the back of the ship, down to the sky pool, into the elevators and we were there. Yes, We are so excited to meet our table mates, or if we have any..

They showed us to our table and we sat across from each other by the window at a table for 10....

We waited and waited, finally our table staff brought us menu's gave us water... and we waited and waited. Finally they (table staff) asked us if we were ready to order and we said I guess so....

We went ahead and ordered hoping that our table mates of 8 would show up. But no... Rae and I felt very alone... at this big table for 10... Out came our food. YUM YUM...

Food Porn time...

Shrimp Cocktail... Yummy

067.jpg

Fresh Fruit...

066.jpg

Lasagna for Rae...

070.jpg

She ate about 1/4 of it and decided she didn't care for it so she sent it back and got the same thing I did... Steak...

071-1.jpg

The stuff in the little bowl was mac and cheese... Rae said it tasted like Mac and cheese ice cream... It was so YUMMY!!!!!

More to come....

What a fun trip! I am loving this review. I have all boys- so never got to have a mother/daughter trip :(

And I always had a DOTD with my sons on our cruises when they were your daughters age. I dont think there is anything wrong with it at all and it's a fun memory of our fun cruises together! It's a vacation!!

Can't wait for the rest of your review! I have always been curious how long you have to sail from Galveston before you hit the blue water so let me know:D

After our wonderful dinner all by ourselves...

Rae was ready to wonder around the ship and check out all the sights.

Have we done this before??????? hahaha

One of the pretty sights to see is the gorgeous Texas Sunset... Now living way out here in West Texas... We always have beautiful sunsets because it's so flat out here, but watching the sun kiss the water is the best!!!!!!!

Here's some pictures...

Note: the top of the Sky Pool is closed!!!!!

We hung out around the sky pool most of that evening... It was just really peaceful..

076.jpg

077.jpg

Finally, after we both yawned our heads off, I suggested that we head back to the room. Rae was ready, she was also worn out. It had been such a super day. Once back to our room, we came across our first towel animal. We love towel animals, Disney got us hooked on them.

We weren't really sure what this one was, except maybe a seal.

087.jpg

We found our "Fun Time" and our Atlantis Adventure Tickets on our bed...

So excited for Atlantis...

085-2.jpg

Rae and I finished unpacking and watched TV -

just a foot note on the TV...

It S#*ks... you only get maybe 2 stations ABC or maybe NBC or maybe it was FOX or CBS.. I don't really remember because it went back and forth. One time you would have one and the next another...

Then you have all the cruise information channels that repeat over and over. Uggggg.

There were movie channels but you had to catch them just right to watch a movie.

TV is one thing that I wish Carnival could change. I would have loved to have all 4 major networks, plus The Weather Channel, Foxnews and ESPN but no...

Finally around 10:30 we crashed... Boring aren't we... But we were really tired...

Mom way under her covers, it was cold in our room...

092.jpg

More to come on Day 1 - A conclusion...

Carolyn
