OH NO - Suitcase too big?

We are leaving home this morning and as I was putting my luggage tag on my suitcase and preparing to load it in the car, I read the fine print and saw where it says each suitcase should not exceed 24x16 inches. When we travel we take one large hard-size suitcase for the two of us, but it is 31x21 inches. Do I need to find other suitcases and repack?

We always take a large suitcase. It's never been a problem. Have fun, not very often you leave Kentucky to get to someplace cooler.

I would. Hate to have my whole vacation screwed because of luggage. Why risk it?

Absolutely NOT!!! I have always taken larger than "recommended". Port porters just want their tips......they don't seem to care at all what size your bags are and the cruise line delivers it all to your room.

It should be 16"H x 24"W (no length restrictions) according to Carnivals website. Ours is 30" long by 20" wide and we have no problems whatsoever.

Never seen that fine print, and also have never been under 24"...

They are talking about width and height. Length can be whatever. Just give it to the porters as checked luggage. No probs. We always take a piece of luggage that's larger than that.

 

Ps - Carnival only "encourages" that lugagge be that limit.

Our suitcase is huge because we pack just one for my husband and I. NO PROBLEM with the size. Take it and don't worry about it.

I believe the 24x16 is mainly enforced if you want to CARRY ON a suitcase...

 

 

we have sailed with HUGE suitcases for years without an issue...

Not to worry... you'll be fine. All of the sizes indicated are recommended... not real restrictions.
