jtl513 Posted November 9, 2011 #2 Share Posted November 9, 2011 We only play slots, so I can only tell you about them. You can initailly put cash into the machine, but when you cash out the balance remaining is transferred to you room key-card "bank". To switch machines you put that card into the next machine and "log on" with a pin that you set up the first time you played. You can also charge money against your on board account instead of inserting cash to begin, but you can not transfer funds back to that on-board account. Any time you like you can take your key card to the cashier's cage to fully or partially cash out. I don't know what happens if the key-card is lost ... whether you lose all the money in your "bank" or not.

Instead you have a casino account attached to your room key. At the tables it's just like any typical land-based casino and you buy your way in with cash. You cash your chips in with cashier just like any casino. I guess you could get chips from the cashier and charge those to your room account but I've never done that so can't say. jtl513 Posted November 9, 2011 #6 Share Posted November 9, 2011 I guess you could get chips from the cashier and charge those to your room account but I've never done that so can't say. You can buy casino chips on-line before you go (I think they're under "indulgences") but I don't know if they deliver the physical chips to your room or just a voucher of some kind that you convert. I presume it would have to be that, as chips are like cash. Or just buy OBC's to cover as much as you plan to lose!
Laminator Posted November 9, 2011 #7 Share Posted November 9, 2011 You can give your room card to the table supervisor and buy chips directly at the table!

the2ofus Posted November 10, 2011 #9 Share Posted November 10, 2011 Just remember to cash out any remaining money on your key card during the day on your last day. They have a cut-off time after which they don't give back cash, if I remember correctly.

Since you need a PIN to cash out, and that PIN is only recorded on the card which has been lost, are you just out of luck?
Cruzin Terri Posted November 10, 2011 #11 Share Posted November 10, 2011 Do you (or does anybody out there) know what happens in the case of a lost key-card? Since you need a PIN to cash out, and that PIN is only recorded on the card which has been lost, are you just out of luck? The replacement key card will have the information on it and you will be able to cash out with the same pin. On my previous cruise my key card would not work and had to be replaced. All the money from the casino winnings were on the replacement card. It would be the same if you lost the card. Whoever finds it would not know your PIN and would not be able to withdraw the money. Also when you go to the cashier to claim your winnings ,you must sign a slip of paper. And enter your PIN to get the cash. I hope this helps. If the replacement card has the same PIN and money balance that must mean that they're stored on the ship's computer, and not just on the card itself as I had presumed. :)
