Latitudes Benefits on the NCL Sky question

We are booked on the NCL Sky in February but noticed there is a blurb on NCL's website about no Latitudes benefits for cruises less than 5 days. This contradicts NCL's benefit chart where there is an asterick that says not available on the Epic or Sky and the only place the asterick shows is on the Latitudes Cocktail party. Last time we were on the Sky we had the Latitudes party and many of the Latitudes benefits offered to us. Has that changed? What was your experience on the Sky with Latitudes benefits or were there none? Thanks for any info.

Ok, thanks Sparks. So I guess things have changed because our last time on the Sky we got an escort on to the ship, priority everything, fruit basket, wine, and tons of special treatment. I guess we should get used to a lower level of service with all this upgrading they are doing on the Latitudes Program.

When was the last time you were on the Sky? Sounds like you were in a suite or given VIP status, not because of Latitudes.

No, it was only an inside cabin. They just went out of their way to treat us well but this was at least a year and a half ago. We also got chocolate covered stawberries and consierge service as well. Strange I know but I got spoiled after that.

But why would I get VIP service? I remember the cruise consultant was especially nice to me and my mother and daughter had recently met him on a previous cruise they had gone on...I wonder if that is what it was.

From what I have read, VIP status is given at the discretion of the hotel director or other high ranking people onboard. Also those who have booked through Casinos at Sea have been given the status or those that have spent a lot of money in the casino. Some have also reported they didn't know they were VIP until they got to the port and there name was on a list. I have friends (only book insides) who have been designated before and they don't know what they did -- they are very nice people, however, so maybe just being yourself did it!

Wow, come to think of it our name was on a list when we got to the port. I still can't imagine why; I thought it was because I was Gold. No wonder I was disappointed when I went on the Pearl and got ordinary treatment. Thanks for the explanation.
