I absolutely love this review! We are first time cruisers and I have booked a cruise on the Magic for this June. I booked it 6 months ago! So for the last 6 months I have been stalking the posts here. You review is by far the most informative.

Love the pictures and I am so excited about our trip, oh boy it's gonna be a long 5+ months! I am in love with this ship.

Thanks again and can't wait for the next post :)

Thanks so much! What a great ship for your 1st cruise. It will seem like a long 5 mths for sure, but remember, to enjoy even all the prep, seems like it's over before you know it. :)

Great picture I can't wait on the conquest been meet to Magic our island!!

You so close now! I can't wait to hear about your cruise when you get back!

Thanks for the review! I know they are time consuming to do. We are sailing on her in June and i cant wait. I have followed your review from the start.

Your welcome! Thank-you!!! Yes, it can be time consuming, but I enjoy doing the reviews. But, it seems like lately, everything has been going on, LOL! Ack!

And I must state that I made a mistake in an earlier post with a picture, but I didn't notice until it was too late to edit. I said that there was a Holland ship there with us in Cozumel, but it was the Norweigan, Holland is up next in GC with us. LOL

So, after sail away, we got ready for dinner & headed to the MDR. It was nice, every night, there was not any waiting to get in, they always started letting everyone in about 5:45.

Hubby & Lester participating in the Magic trick.

Appetizers, pork & black bean quesidilla & I had french onion soup. Yum!

Hubby & I both had the jerked pork loin.

Sorry, I don't know the name of this dish. Lester kept teasing me, along with my hubby, about me snapping pics of the food. Hubby always tried to start eating before I could snap pics. LOL! Anyways, so Lester let me take a picture of his dinner tonight. What a nice guy.

Time for tonight's dinner showtime.

Dessert, we both had WCMC (Although I can never eat the whole thing, too rich for me, but tastes so good.) And we had a couple of bites of the cheesecake to try.

Each night, we enjoyed the singing & dancing. There were a few of the wait staff they had a blast & we really enjoyed watching them. And Ken B., the Maitre' D, always joined in.

Pretty awesome review you got going on! I love the pics :)

Some things that caught my eye are...

- The distance signs outside the entrance of the Redfrog bar is a nice touch.

- The TVs that seem to be up on the wall by the bar in your pic of the casino seem like a nice touch, too.

- Your room and balcony look freakin awesome.

- The dolphin pictures were really cool. Do they just swim up to the piers like that in Galveston? My gf would have had a happy-heart-attack lol

- That Redfrog brews their own beer? That was a red ale? I like red ales. Do they have other ales?

- There are 2 pools? One on the aft and one in the middle?

Do you have any more pics of the atrium and/or promenade?

How old are your children? Do you plan on doing anything with them in Galveston? If so, what?

Some things that caught my eye are...

- The distance signs outside the entrance of the Redfrog bar is a nice touch. I think so too! It's so neat at the Red Frog Pub.

- The TVs that seem to be up on the wall by the bar in your pic of the casino seem like a nice touch, too. I agree!

- Your room and balcony look freakin awesome. It's an awesome one! :) We had an aft wrap on the Conquest in 2010 & loved the room & balcony too.

- The dolphin pictures were really cool. Do they just swim up to the piers like that in Galveston? My gf would have had a happy-heart-attack lol Yes! There's been dolphins swimming & playing around every time we go there or sail away from there. I love watching them.

- That Redfrog brews their own beer? That was a red ale? I like red ales. Do they have other ales? Yes, Carnival has their own ale & it's more of the red/dark color, your right. I know that they were lots of other beers, but sorry, I didn't pay attention.

- There are 2 pools? One on the aft and one in the middle? Correct & then several hot tubs.

Do you have any more pics of the atrium and/or promenade? Sure do! I loved the atrium & lights!

How old are your children? Do you plan on doing anything with them in Galveston? If so, what?

Our kids will be 14, 9 & 6 when we cruise with them. We originally hadn't planned anything for while in Galveston since we live close to the port, but we are thinking we might stay down there the night before. Our oldest turns 14, 2 days before we cruise. :)

Thank-you so much!

So after dinner, we went back to the cabin so Hubby could change into shorts & we had a very cute towel monkey! We were so excited, like little kids, LOL! We call our kids our monkeys & our youngest has collected monkeys for years, he loves them. Our room steward left the monkey up for us for the remainder of the cruise. Thanks Ovi!!!

We then sat on the balcony for about 30 minutes & decided to head to the Casino where I ended up, very quickly, 'donating' about $10, LOL! We then headed to the Red Frog Pub. We loved & were hooked on the Mango Magic.

***Sorry these 2 pics are out of focus, I had the flash off, oops, LOL. Plus, I tend to blink with the flash on most of the time.

They had some different specials each day.

DSC_0392.jpg

Then we had some of the little snack they had & talked with 2 of the bar tenders & enjoyed the live music. The snack was okay, I wasn't too crazy about it, hubby thought it wasn't too bad. We asked the bartender what it was exactly & he showed us. They fry them I guess.

I'm not sure exactly how long we stayed there, but we had a great time. 1 Bartender was super nice, adding about 2 shots worth of the rum on top of our drink after we drank it down some. Each time. Let me say, that Mango Rum sneaks up on you. LOL. :D

We then headed to Lido as the late night buffet was starting & we needed just a little snack.

Great review. Thanks for taking the time to post it. My husband and I, and some of his family are sailing the Majic in 15 days. :D

What are pier runners? Just folks jogging on the pier? I know, silly.

What were the cameras for? The one outside your balcony, etc.

Where do we dine if we have "anytime dining"? Is there a separate dining area?

Do the walls between the balconies open up? We have family in adjacent rooms.

Thanks

Kathy

Pier Runners....one of my favorites at the end of the day on days we are in port. It is the people that are not back on the boat on time. As it gets close to time to leave that port, they will announce a list of names(if anyone is not back on the boat yet). Those will be the pier runners. As they come running to get on the boat that is about to leave them people hang over the side and holler at them to RUN!!! or HURRY!!! and they start running because they think they are going to get left.....Fun to watch.

Hello again K.

Enjoying your review and your posts on FB.

Do they have trays at the buffet on the Magic?

Do you Tweet?

Do you think John Heald would agree to post the recipe for that weird snack they have in the Bull Frog Bar? Do you think they boil the peas and then maybe bake them? What is the seasoning on them?It looks like these are used in Indian dishes from what I just saw briefly on Google.

Are y'all coffee drinkers? If so, how was the coffee on the Magic? (the coffee at the self serve drink stations)

No, I'm sorry, we are not, so I have no idea.

Happy anniversary! I loved your review and enjoyed all of your great pictures! March 18 just can't come fast enough for me!

Your welcome & Thank-you! Pier runners, those that end up running to make the ship because they didn't come back in time like they should. The drunk ones are usually wobbling & all over the place. LOL. The camera outside our balcony was I'm sure used for the Bridge to view along the side & some of the back area of the ship.

Anytime dining is in the other dining room, FWD. Most of the balconies do open up in between, you can just ask your room steward. Hope that helps! :)
