Froufie - GREAT review! Thanks so much.

We sail Liberty, same itinerary, in 2 weeks!

Do you happen to have the Fun Times (I may have missed them in your review so pardon if duplicate request).

Pretty sure Froufie posted them somewhere....but, in the mean time, here is a link to the "generic" Funtimes - Liberty - Eastern. Sorry, I just did that itinerary as well, but I did not keep the Funtimes:) Great cruise, though!

Glad you liked the review - I didn't post my Fun Times - but here is a link to those for November: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1521271

Hope this helps with the 'anticipation' - have a wonderful cruise:D

Hey Wendy - thanks for the advice! I am excited to be 'gaining' one hour every day on the way back (more partying and then sleeping in?) :D...and already booked late seating for dinner!

As for the menu - to be quite honest after so many Carnival cruises it would take a lot to get me excited! Not that anything was that bad but some of the new stuff was not that great (e.g. the oysters rockefeller were downright nasty - not baked and no cheese???)

I hear you on that. After 13 Carnival cruises, I'm getting a bit tired of the food. They've changed some of the menu items, but unfortunately, many of the new items are nothing to write home about (chips and salsa appetizer, meatloaf entree, "gourmet" burger entree). Add to that the fact the some of the items removed were things I really enjoyed (fried mozzarella appetizer, Indian entree no longer has paneer cheese).

We still enjoy many things about CCL, but we have started to sample other lines--most recently, Celebrity (very good food, but nighttime entertainment after the show is lacking--CCL still has the edge on that).

I circulate around taking pics of some roll call friends and saying goodbye!

We also ordered a plate of the bacon mac and cheese to ‘share’ and to be quite honest I was not that impressed - very creamy/cheesy but too bland for me.

Great review Froufie, as always!

We also ordered the bacon mac n cheese to share and found it to be just okay. not as flavorful as other versions I've had elsewhwere.

I am looking forward to my TA cruise on the Breeze - I am hoping that on a 15 day cruise there will be lots of new 'yumminess' to explore!...as well as some new and different eating venues! :) I agree that the entertainment options are great and definitely a plus for Carnival!

Ah yes - my famous cruise ship 'bling' shirt - Isn't it the best!!! Found it on ebay (it is made by quacker factory - I have a lot of their stuff - very cute). You can try ebay or QVC - good luck!

I also love that shirt. I just ordered a red one with a jeweled cruise ship. I will wear it with white capris. I wanted to ask if these shirts are good quality? I have never ordered this brand. Thanks much.

Ps..I am enjoying your review. I always book either 2217 or 2216 when going solo. I love these cabins also.

You will love your cruise 'bling' shirt and I'm sure you will get lots of comments on it as well :D I have quite a few pieces by Quacker Factory and I am careful with them (hand wash, lo/air dry) and the quality is fine as they seem to be holding up!.....and I too love those 'cheaper' porthole cabins - tons of space for a solo.

Just wanted to say HI! Froufie! That shirt was adorable.

Can we convince you to come along again next January? :p

Thanks for the kind words - I agree the bacon mac and cheese was just 'okay' in my opinion....perhaps I should try it on another cruise just to make sure? :D:D;)

Hi Jocelyn!!!! Hope all is well with you and Mike.....thanks for the shirt 'compliments' (yes it hangs in my closet all year covered in plastic no less - saving it for cruising only ha ha ha).

Would love to join you guys in January if possible - will try to win $$$ in the Breeze casino if possible to make this a reality - ha ha ha ;):D

  • 1 month later...
Friday, January 27th - Day at Sea and the saddest day of all

Well the cruise is nearing its end and you can feel the ‘frantic’ excitement of everyone on board as they want to try and do everything before getting off the ship tomorrow.

9 am finds Bonnie in the shops for the European bracelet sale (you guessed it cheaper copies of those pandora beads) where she makes a few more purchases. 9:15 am we meet up with our friends for another MDR breakfast - everyone looks pretty wiped out!

After breakfast I head to the shops to grab some souvenirs for those at home, and then catch up on my emails. 12 noon is the final round of Super Trivia and off I go to try and win that prize. I am very lucky with my guesses on some of the questions and my team is grateful - I am also the designated dice thrower as I have been doing a good job (and scared to death of rolling that minus 5 which happened to some teams leaving them in a precarious position in the end). Being a competitive team we have some ‘issues’ and cruise social hostess Marie (from New Zealand) who is in charge of the Super Trivia game now nicknames us The Hecklers!

The game is finally over and the results are being read out - starting with 6th place - so far don’t hear our team name which is a good thing - and lo and behold - first place goes to FULL SIGNAL with 65 points!!! WOW! I am thrilled to pieces as I am now the proud owner of a ship on a stick and a bottle of (cheap) champagne! So exciting and a great way to end the cruise. Have some pics taken to commemorate the occasion and off to chill the bottle in my cabin planning to take it to tonight’s dinner to share with my tablemates (for a farewell toast).

Thrilled to death!

The winning team:

I find Bonnie on the Serenity deck and we plan to meet up to try those burritos after my slot tournament attempt - which was not good so no need to come back! Burritos were pretty good and lots of fun toppings.

After that I finally got to sit out in the sunshine enjoying the Serenity deck (Bonnie was off to pack). At approx 3 pm I pack up to go sit at the Alchemy bar for another teatime with Froufie. I finally meet up with some of the gang (roll call/full signal team mates) at the dining room door entrance and we fill a table for four and chat about cruising while enjoying some very sweet and yummy cakes and things! We finish up and realize it’s soon time for the Fun Farewell party (5-6 pm) and more drinks so we better go finish packing.

Now on most ships the Fun Farewell party is not well advertised and therefore not well attended! (which ticks me off a bit). Yes there is a mention of it in the Fun Times on the first day - but if you don’t remember or don’t look for it you won’t find it (on the last day it is only listed in the ‘tear off’ section of the Fun Times and simples states ‘Fun Farewell Party’ and the location with no mention of the entertainment or free drinks).

In this case it was busier than I expected - with the party in full swing. Waiters circulating with trays, New Dawn duo entertaining and people on the stage dancing along.

Cruise Director Karl was circulating and chatting with everyone which was nice to see.

We found our tablemates all gathered at one table so Bonnie and I joined them (and I got some good videos of bonnie and carol and kirk all having fun on stage!). Now Bonnie has caught on to this ordering of drinks NOT on the trays so before I know it we are surrounded with banana daiquiris - and boy are they good. I have 2 banana daiquiris and 1 rum punch and one ‘something else yellow’ and now feeling no pain (and this is why you should finish packing BEFORE the party and the free flowing drinks).

Frouie, in the picture of you with the ship on a stick where did you find the lanyard card holder. On my first cruise my exhusband found some and bought them..well 5 cruises later I can't find them or even remember what they are called. Do you know? Awesome review. We leave 9/15 on the same ship and route you took. Counting the day's

That is actually a home made very special lanyard made by a fellow CC roll call member on one of my previous cruises (can't remember which one?) - but it is merely a plastic case - with obviously a thick blue strng with one of those clips on the bottom that fits thru the 'hole' in the plastic cardholder (I hope that makes sense?)...and it is decorated with tiny 'caribbean' motif hangy things (ya that makes sense right? :) ).....kind of like those things you hang on your wine glass - I think mine is a palm tree and a couple of other goodies - She brought a whole bunch along and distributed them at our meet and greet and I have been using it as my 'main' lanyard ever since - sentimental value? (but I think I have replaced the plastic card holder at least once - probably from a 'nametag' I got at a work conference.???...)

If you are looking for something similar I think a Staples/Business Depot or even Walmart would carry such an item!

Have fun on your cruise :D:D

Well Pooh! The liberty is on our short list for next year. I was so excited to find your review.... but the pictures are not showing up. :(

I did enjoy reading about it though.

Keep it on the short list - fabulous ship!

Sorry about the pics - I used to use 'webshots' which is now defunct - so looks like all the pics have disappeared :( (lots of good pics in my Breeze review - also keep that one on your list as well :) )...

I loved your breeze review!!! We are waiting for CCL to release fall 2014 schedules. And we have to coordinate with my work deadlines.

We want some new ports and I really want hmc and grand Turk. Love the beach.

sorry about the webshots pics having 'disappeared' - I still have the pics somewhere on my computer and perhaps at some point I can upload them to photobucket or some other site! :(

P.S. Lots of pics in my Breeze review! :)
