Carnival Liberty Leap Year Review (2/25 - 3/3)

Thanks for taking the time to do such an extensive review! my boyfriend and I are going on our first cruise [this same itinerary] for our anniversary in 11 days! It's great to be able to feel a little more confident about the ships activities and port ideas from here!

Your note about the mixology class sounds awesome- if they have it offered, where do you go to sign up for it?[yup, i am just embracing the 'newbie' label. haha]

I'm glad you enjoyed it! You and your boyfriend will have a great time. I'd ask about it at the Alchemy Bar. They advertised it in the Fun Times on Wednesday as the "Alchemy Class".

If I remember I'll ask at the Alchemy bar and see if she has it. I'm sure I'll find something else if she doesn't. :D

It's not hard, they have some excellent drinks! The drinks on the menu there are exclusive to that bar only - you can't order them anywhere else on the ship :D

I always read reviews but never comment on them. But, I just had to say how much I loooooooved this one. I'm going on the Liberty for the 3rd time in 19 days. But this will be my first time since the 2.0 updates. I was so excited to see the taco/burrito pictures because I loooooove tacos and burritos. The blue iguana bar and alchemy bar looked really good too. Omg, and not to forget Guy's burger joint. I'm so excited and it looks like you guys had a blast. I can't wait! Your review made me even more anxious if thats even possible lol

I'm pretty sure they have the 'Alchemy Class' twice on the cruise. Once was on Monday and the other Friday (I think).

Thank you so much for the awesome review. We are sailing in...40 days on her!!

Can't wait. It will be our first time on the Liberty and are so excited about the 2.0 upgrades.

I'm afraid after this and the Breeze that we are scheduling for April 2013, that we will be spoiled and won't want to do any other ships (ones that don't have the 2.0 upgrades!!)

GREAT job guys!! Loved the review.:D Now I'm even more excited for May!!! My husband is ready to strangle me. He doesn't get excited until the car is packed and we are on the road to Miami.

Nice job finally getting Chris to dance. It's good practice for him as he will HAVE to dance with you at your upcoming WEDDING!! Congrats!!

I don't know if drunkenly stumbling around is technically dancing :D

But I always told her I'd only dance at my wedding so she has that to look forward to.

Such a great review. You two are so cute and I loved the monkeys, urine and all!! Congrats on your wedding, and we all want to see pictures. Don't worry about being lushes on vacation, we are too!! My bar bill on the Oasis was higher than the fare. I almost had a heart attack! You have totally sold me on the Liberty...you should get a free cruise for all of the business you've brought to CCL! Happy marriage and cruising!!!

Here are just a few more shots of Bannister Island. The sand was not very deep, so I wouldn’t recommend walking around in bare feet. We also didn’t check out the bar or restaurant, but the gift shop wasn’t really anything to write home about.

It was then a short trip back to the ship – she's quite a looker:

You may remember My husband, my 2 redheads - Son 12, Daughter 8 and I for our extremely embarrassing departure from Bannister Island. We were packing up and looked around and realized a lot of people had left their chairs. I looked at my watch and it was 12:05 so I yelled for everybody to hurry we are supposed to be back on the boat. My husband said "They won't leave without us" the kids and I headed for the dock and my daughter got there first and started yelling that the boat left, then promptly burst into tears.

I am not one to cause a scene and I knew there would be a different boat coming back later but we had left all our snorkel stuff on that boat including my husbands prescription mask. So I proceeded to cause the biggest scene I could, jumping up and down screaming "Come back! Come back" It took a bit but then the boat turned around. My husband finally made it to the dock now looking sheepish and I told him he better be apologetic. As the boat pulled up we said Sorry to everyone on board, As we were getting on the crew told me that it was their fault they shouldn't have left us, but there head count worked out because 4 people on a different excursion decided to go back early and hopped on our boat.

When we got on the boat my daughter said to me very seriously "now I feel sorry for booing the pier runners yesterday"

What a great review!! I am going to be going on the Liberty next month and I think I recall you mentioning that you took dancing lessons in the casino. Is this correct? If so, I am assuming the casino was closed and they used the space for the classes. I love to dance, but I don't think I will be able to get my husband away from the slots. :)LOL

In fact we loved the ship so much that we booked the Eastern Itinerary for mid April which will be our Honeymoon cruise :D

My husband and I will be on your Honeymoon cruise. We are doing a B2B starting with that one. We celebrate out 20th on 4/23/13:D

Hi Kevin!! I'm sure you'll have an excellent time in Sept - but when you're ready for something different, the Liberty is a great choice. I hope you're doing good too!

Great review "neighbors"!!! After reading your review.....I can hardly wait until July!

Hey "neighbor"! Thanks! I'm sure you'll have a great time

Oh my gosh! Yes, I do remember you, I felt so bad they left you! I remember there was some stowaways on board from the other excursion that was there. I'm sure that was really embarrassing, but no worries, It's better than missing the "real" ship!

It wasn't like a "real" class - they had it listed in the fun times, but it was very informal, and was going on in the casino area while it was open - close to the stage area where there are usually lounge tables and chairs set up. It was only like a 10 minute thing to teach us how the beginning of Thriller went :p

Thanks so much guys!!! Great detailed review...We're really looking forward to sailing on her.

Brenda

Thanks Brenda!
