Left FLL yesterday. Seas are calm, Bright and sunny this a.m. Ship was oversold and a number of folks we spoke with got the inquiring phone call if they wanted to give up their cabin for the cruise that left 2nd week in May. According to our tablemates were offered, balcony cabin and $500/pp shipboard credit.

During muster yesterday appx. 75% of the folks in the Princess Theater (about 700 people) were 1st time Princess sailors.

Ship is nice, internet cafe is in a quieter location than on the Coral. MUTS is pretty good, sound is quite impressive.

Anyone have anything they need to know, please e-mail me and I will attempt to answer.

BTW, alot of folks did the buffet last night. Anytime dining was empty!!!

A couple of questions. Does the ship seem crowded?Does the theatre for shows fill up quickly? What entertainers are on the ship? What are the names of the comedians on the ship? Is the cruise director still James Lay? We are going on the Caribbean Princess in November.Thank you and have a wonderful week.I wish I was there. Steve

I was wondering the same thing... does it seems crowded. I have been on the Grand Class and am sailing on it again, but in the future I may think about the Caribean. Let us know. I wish you all the sun and relaxation on can stick in a week! :D :D :D

TTYL!

Please take care of the CP - we'll be on next week. Looking forward to more of your posts!! Thanks for taking the time to keep us informed. Would you include the dinner themes if possible? I know Sat. is sail away dinner and Sun. is Captain's Dinner - not sure of the rest. We're trying to plan our night at Sabatini's. Thanks again.......

We were on the March 26th sailing (which was spring break). The ship was full with more than 1,000 minors included in the 3200+ passengers.

We had no problem with the ship "feeling" crowded. There are many places to get away. We did not go to any of the shows. I'm sure you will have to get there early for a good seat.

If it's not too much trouble could you tell us what's on the "Available Anytime" menu in the dining room? I heard some things have changed.

Thanks!

Hi ajdegumbia! Thanks for posting! I'll also be getting on the ship as you get off next Saturday. Couple casino questions for you, does the casino cashier give cash or chips when you get an advance from you sail card and do they have any .05 video poker machines or .01 video slot machines? Hope you have a wonderful week!!!!

AJDegumbia here: Running to a show so this will be quick.

Ship doesn't feel crowded. Can tell you "Chair Patrol" was out in force today. They were taking away towels, etc and leaving stickers on the chairs for the passenger when they return.

I'll find out about Anytime dinner. Last night the anytime dinner was really spartan at best. Hardly anyone in the dining rooms. Tonite is 1st formal. Really interesting dress (I'll leave it at that)

James is cruise director. They just brought somebody on from the Island (I can't remember who) I'll get the anytime dinner info. I do know Fetucucinne and shrimp cocktail where there.

Need to run. Going to see the comedian and magician then to dinner.

PS Weather 1st day has been awesome. Nice breeze..Seas running between 1-3 feet

Back from CP too...Anytime dining has NY strip steak, good ceasar salad, deserts includelove boat dream and cheesecake. Really liked Sterlings. But hated Sabatinis, I was suprised or maybe spoiled by the selection at home but the food there wasn`t very good in comparison to what we get at home!

Casino had 25 cent video slots. Trivia was good. Bingo had some really hard core people at it. Art auction was like getting drunk and watching QVC. It doesn`t feel too crowded, get chairs early. Great chocolate banana drink, good attitude about soda card from staff too. But wow do they love the Macarena on that boat. I also took exception to doing the electric slide to Brown Eyed Girl (Boogie oogie oogie, I think not)!

Also did not go to any shows.

We just got off the CP yesterday ( Saturday)..

Had a terrific time- ship was crowded -3000 people including 500 kids from NY,CT,RI and MA spring break--but did NOT seem overcrowded except at the pool area.

We did Personal Choice in the Coral Dining room and made reservations for 8pm on the day of sailing for the entire week in order to NOT have to wait in line...

Caribe Cafe- in formal nites, has the SAME menu as any of the regular dining room-but it is all you can eat crab legs, shrimp and lobster on formal nites.

During lunch, go past the Horizon Buffet and into the Caribe Cafe- food is different and sometimes way better.

In addition, for room service , you CAN write on your cards that you want omlets and bacon and they WILL make it for you...for breakfast.

Entertainment was great- make sure you do NOT miss the Hypnotist- esp his midnite R rated show ,which was wild!

Princess Idol, on final nite, was wonderful last week..tons of great talent .....

Sterling Steak house was AWESOME-- have the ribeye and you can order everything on the menu if you desire.

Service is excellent in this dining room.

We were in an obstructed view cabin- E404 -and all we saw was some metal rods and if you looked down, some metal drums- but if you looked directly out, it was a clear view of the ocean..

Yes, they did offer FL passengers a balcony upgrade if they gave up the week we sailed...since they were overbooked.

We were travelling with some FL friends who told us that the day we embarked...but they chose to stay with us ( great friends!)............

Ship is large- but still VERY nice.

Food was BETTER than Celebrity and more plentiful, if you asked for more...

Hope your cruise this week was as much fun as our's last week!

DH and I were on the CB in January, and I don't recall the "chair patrol." Of course, chair-hogs have been a problem that is often discussed on these boards, but I didn't realize that Princess was actually making an effort to recify it. How has the towel-removal been received?

What is your stateroom location? We were on Lido and are currently booked on Baja next January.

I hope you're having a wonderful time. I can't wait to sail on the CB again.

Hi: AJDegumbia here: OK hopefully, I will remember all the questions from above.

Yes, James is Cruise Director

No, Kevin is not Asst. Cruise Director, Lisa from England (she has lots of frizzie hair)

Anytime dining is same menu as a poster stated above. The healthy choice dinner is something from the usual nights.

Theme dinner tonite at least in Caribe is German with a selection of German beers. Last night was the typical fish (mahi-mahi, tornandoes of beef, bow tie pasta, cornish hen, and something else) I had the bow-tie pasta, actually pretty good. My husband had the beef thought it was excellent. I'll post tomorrow what the theme was tonite.

The comedian this week is Steve Marshall. He is only supposedly doing a week or two, then off the ship. Last night we had the magician Murray from Vegas, he was very entertaining.

Jeanne: Hope you and Michael have a great time next week. Weather has been very good, only a couple of hour of clouds this a.m. and it's been awesome otherwise. BTW, No Michael. Guess he didn't re-up for the CP or he may still be on vacation.

Someone asked about our cabin. We are on the inside in Baja (foreward) nice cabin for the price. We will be sailing on the CP Xmas week and have aft cabin B749 & B748 so we are very excited about that.

Well that's all for now. Been having problems with the internet so will see.

AJ Degumbia here: Greetings from St. Thomas. Back from shopping this a.m. Weather is very hot and humid. Just a few sprinkles of rain. Only 3 ships in port today; Carnival & RCI and us.

Questions: MUTS: Shall we Dance with J-Lo and Richard Gere and The Incredibles. Showed Tina Turner in concert 1st night.

Last night was either the Caribbean Theme dinner in Dining rooms or German Night up in the Caribe. We opted for German; actually wasn't too bad. I can tell you we were thinking of doing Sterling, went and inquired last night sold out through Friday. Guess we will eat there at Xmas.

Inroom cabin movies from what I remember: Calender Girls, DeLovely and 2 or 3 others a day. They switch by day. I'll look and let everyone know. They are showing Sideways today in the Princess Theater.

Tried to go see Steve Morris (the comedian again last night) He was in Explorer's and couldn't get a seat for either the 1st two shows.

Tonight is Island Night up on the Lido deck. Will let you know my thoughts.

Having a great time, seas are still very flat and has been smooth sailing so far.

Will post more tomorrow.

PS Not taking alcohol at the gangway. Went into St. Thomas to buy some microbrew and let us care it right to the cabin.

Greetings from St. Maarten: Looks like 4 ships in port today, RCI, Carnival, HAL and us.

Last night was italian night in the dining rooms. My DH said the Veal Shank was quite good. Also had swordfish, shrimp, and pasta. In Caribe was the "Rice Buffet". Didn't go up to check it thou.

Island party was last night, lots of fun. Also for all you that are my "age" they showed The Beatles "A Hard Day's Night" on MUTS last night. Boy it was great to remember!!!

Weather again has been beautiful. Raining this a.m. with the sun brightly shining for about 2 minutes. Went in thru the Horizon Court and by the time we got out thru the Caribe it stopped!!!

Any other questions, please feel free to ask.

BTW, tours are NOT selling out, so anyone who has not booked, don't be discouraged. It looked like all the tours that they offered in both St. Thomas & St. Maarten were still available.

Jeanne::: If your monitoring...Found Michael. Has been working in the back room doing paper work. We talked briefly. Said he maybe going to the Crown to set it up..not sure yet. Silvio was promoted to supervisor and I believe he is on the Island. Said to say Hi. Asked how your trip on the Star was.

Later

Anita
