Hey so excited that you wrote a review. I hoped that once we returned we would be able to find you to beg for pictures from our trip in Barbados! Are you able to send some of the pics via e-mail? If so best address is zapconsulting @ gmail.com

 

The Bolador catamaran was a highlight of our trip.

 

It was fun to be able to hang out with both of you...gotta laugh about the guys each cracking their heads on the mast three times:D.

 

Now I'm going back to the beginning to read your review!

Yes it was the highlight of ours as well! Glad you found me, I will send you what pics I have. Most of them are just of the turtles, I think I have one of you guys sitting out on the trampoline. I'll send them later today.

And oh my, I can't believe the SOFO hotel gave you issues! We are planning on staying at Cervantes in OSJ but I'm really worried about the possible lack of elevators, air conditioning, street noise and thin walls - all issues that seem to plague OSJ hotels.

 

Loved your review, thanks for the pictures at the top to the Pitons after your hike! Now I know what it looks like, not that I would even think of doing it!

Thanks for posting such an informative review. I am sailing in September and its actually hard to find such details about these ports. Your pictures are awesome.Makes wish September was alittle closer.:D

Thanks for sharing, we did this last November and are doing it again this November. we also booked SOFO Casablanca for this year both pre-and post cruise. Rate was too good to pass up, Sheraton was 2 1/2 times for expensive and we were not impressed with it last year.

I would have come back telling everyone to stay there had that incident not happened, but when I think about it, it really was the crazy lady across the hall who was creating the problems. A simple apology by the front desk for waking us twice and a simple, "we'll look into it sir" should have been what the front desk should have said instead of "well what do you want me to do??". Other than that the hotel is fine and I would recommend them.

I'm glad so many people are reading this and finding it useful. Thanks so much! I rely mostly on the reviews and advice from fellow CCers to plan my trips so I thought I should try to help out others in return!

 

 

Started checking itineraries for next Spring....;)

thanx for the review - great pics! Despite such an awful start to your vacation you managed to make it work and sailed with an open mind, nice to read an unvarnished review.

 

We're booked at the Sheraton OSJ, as long as it's not raining;)had planned to haul our suitcases over along the waterfront. The pic u posted from the ship of the hotel makes it seem 'pretty close' but after reading the description of the coblestones not sure i want to attempt dragging my suitcases...what do you think:confused:

Thank you so much for this awesome trip report. We are looking at taking this cruise this August. My best friend and I taught kindergarten for ten years, and on those "days" we would look at each other, laugh and promise one day to take a girls only trip. Finally we are in the planning stage. Originally we thought Royal Caribbean, but their prices are high for the time we can travel. My concerns for Carnival are: 1. Adult pool area where we an lounge and enjoy some fancy cocktails. 2. Smoking. My friend suffers from severe asthma and cigarette smoking will start it off. Were the ships very smoky? Thanks again for the report and pictures and any more advice you can offer.

The Sheraton is very close, too close to take a cab. It won't be too bad for you because you will only have to cross one street. We had a few to cross and then re-cross cause we got lost, which was harder but I'd still do it again to save the $$.

The aft pool is supposedly adults only, I never sat there so I don't know how well it's enforced. There's definetly kids in the lido pool at all times, but not an over whelming amount, carnival does a good job at keeping the kids occupied with other things. You should have no problem relaxing in a lounge chair having drinks brought to you though. As far as smoking, on this cruise I didn't notice it as much as last year on the Glory. The casino is definetly smokey, and the piano bar and dance club. Theres no smoking the comedy club or main show lounge, and there's smoking only allowed on the starboard side of the open decks, so if you stay on port side you should be fine.

Actually, the Piano Bars are now all non-smoking on all Carnival ships!
