Western liberty review march 24, 2012 with a great friendship formed

Recommended Posts

Thanks so much for your review. We will be on the Fascination out of Jax in 2 weeks. Our fav ships are the Spirit Class -- Legend, Miracle, etc.

Also, I saw your post about having a new version of Office at home and an older version at the office.

I have a similar situation. If I want to use files in both places, I save the file I created at home in a .doc format as opposed to a .docx format.

When you go to 'Save as' in your home version, click the drop down arrow and click on .doc version. You should then be able to work on the files both at the office and at home.

May all cruises be fun and smooth sailing.

Hubby will be happy that he was correct - damn! OMG, we had so much fun with you both. We really need to get together again. Your laugh is so beautiful, hearty and contagious!

I could just be sitting at work and think about some of things that happened and just start laughing out loud.

Funny you say that cause I'm finishing up my notes about the cruise and when I'm writing something or doing laundry I'll think if Colin, Florin, Serge, Nora, (young cutie dealer) us, you guys and stuff that happened on the ship and start cracking up. Girl, we are GREEEEAATTT company you and I... and the guys too of course. We think a lot alike, we both laugh with deep feeling and joy. What's not to like about you guys... fun, sweet on the eyes, caring, joyous, attentative, great jokes (where's Gumby now...) hahahaha. I could go on and on. My sister... yep, that works, family & friends.

We feel the same way. Gotta figure out next years cruise in the spring but first have to get daughter to set a date for her wedding which may be right when we want to go. Damn!!!! Anyway, we'll work something out cuz we most definitely have to do this again with you and Frank. Good times for sure!!!

Thanks for your awesome review. I was on this cruise with my wife as well and basically had the same issues you had.

1. We were on deck 10 and had a balcony. the rooms across the hall had a bunch of guys on spring break and every night they would come back to their room around 4am and wake us up. They were extremely drunk most nights and very loud. I wanted to go out and say something but didn't want to start any trouble.

2. People were slamming the balcony doors left and right around us, it was really annoying. They should make the doors close a lot slower to prevent that from happening.

3. I'm glad you had luck at the 3 card poker table. Every time I played I got wiped out. Everyone around me was catching 3 of a kinds and straight flushes but one never came my way.

4. You missed out on the breakfast burritos as they were fantastic, they might have been my favorite food on the entire trip.

5. The chair hogs were out of control on both sea days we spent probably 30 minutes walking around the ship looking for a place to sit. One thing I did find odd was that they had several stacks of chairs that were not used but they were all locked up so no one could use them.

6. This was my first Carnival cruise and it was a much rowdier crowd than when i've been on royal caribbean. I'd have to say I liked Royal caribbean better but would have no problem going on Carnival again.

Thanks and it is nice to hear from someone that was on the same cruise that encountered some of the same issues. Totally agree that the balcony doors should be fixed so they don't slam.

We are really sorry that we missed the breakfast burritos. We are sure we would agree that they were really good.

Glad to hear that you will give Carnival another try.

Sarasota here. Thanks for another great review once again. Always enjoy reading about your Carnival travels.

This review held special interest, as we are traveling on the Liberty May 12th. Planned this immediately following a ship's tour last year.

Congrats on trying to quit smoking. Did that over 20 years ago, and could not be happier. Just don't give in.

oakman: we are from sarasota, too, but will be missing you by a week! indulging with a b2b on the liberty starting may 19. i actually looked at the 12th (cheaper and seems like a great roll call!) but i work in the restaurant biz and technically may is still season, so in terms of taking time off, the later the better. have a great trip! maybe our paths will cross in the future...

Carncruiser...

Another Floridian here! Sarasota to be exact..

First of all..I truly enjoyed both your Legend review..and that led me to read your Liberty review..(I admit to just skimming over the last few pages of posts tonight cause DH thinks I'm nuts for sitting in my office all night)

We're going on the Legend in December ( so excited!!!) and while we've cruised her before we haven't since CCL instituted their new policy on smoking...

I was disappointed to read that you HAVE to be sitting and playing to smoke in the casino..DH and I both smoke and part of our cruise routine is to go to the casino after dinner...He would enjoy watching me play slots for awhile while we had our after dinner cig..then he'd wander off to his table games.

We, like you, spend a great deal of time in the casino and will be disappointed if the smoking areas are too restricted.

Congratulations on quitting btw...and just as a side note...we had the opposite experience with Chantix...I never tried it but DH took it and it worked... but he had such mood swings and depression he was a totally different person...it was MONTHS before he felt normal again..and of course he started smoking again..but I'd rather have the DH I know than some stranger who either slept or sat around on the verge of tears all the time!

Anyway..it's late and I'm sorry to ramble but I wanted to know if by any chance you remember what slot areas were the smoking ones on the Legend.?..I know that was two cruises ago for you now but I had favorite areas and games the last time we were on her and I hope I won't be disappointed.

Also..what other areas of the Legend were your favorites to sit outside and smoke?

Thanks..Great reviews..

Oh and one more thing...we like to dress for dinner too!
