Western liberty review march 24, 2012 with a great friendship formed

We took our food and went up to Deck 10. We found a couple of chairs and tried to enjoy our lunch. I say tried because the Reuben was very fatty and chewy and just not what I wanted. Hubby said his wrap was good and offered me part of it, but I figured I would go find something else a little later.

 

 

 

 

 

 

The guy in this pic is one of the happiest crew members I have ever met. Especially at the deli. I called him Mr. Happy and he said he loved his job.

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for doing an AWESOME Western Liberty cruise! We have WAYYYYY too long to wait, but I'll be sailing with the best people in the world! Keep up the good work, and congrats on quitting smoking. My mom died in Jan of COPD, caused by 45 years of heavy smoking. My sister finally quit just before our mom passed, and I thank her every day for it. And of course, she's pretty much paid off her cruise with the money she would have normally spent on cigs! Can't wait to read the rest!

I know, the guy was always so happy!! He seemed to be one of the few crew members that we noticed that actually seemed to enjoy what he was doing and talk to people.

WOW!! Thank YOU for your very nice compliments. So sorry to hear about your mom. My mom passed away in December and it has weighed very heavily on my decision to quit smoking.

Well a very good morning to everyone! Let's get on with the review shall we?;)

I called Melissa (daughter) from the room as it was only $1.99 per minute. Joe (was boyfriend, now fiancé!!) had a medical procedure done that day and I wanted to make sure everything went well and to see how he was doing.

* I have read many different responses on the rate per minute from the room, however on our last three cruises there was a sign in our room stating that it was $1.99 per minute. I took a picture of the sign and will post it later. Unfortunately, I didn't upload it to photobucket yet.:o

We also received a phone call from Customer Service explaining what happened and why no one was there taking pictures when we boarded. Something about a customs meeting. When Hubby asked what they were going to do they said that they would have to speak with the Photo Manager and get back with us again.

Once we finally left Cozumel and we had changed we went down to the casino. We hung out at the bar until the casino opened. Sean saw us and bought us a drink while we waited.

 

Tonight, we were both going to play 3 card poker.

I'm loving your review and pictures. Looks like you had a great cruise. Thanks for that info regarding the long distance phone calls. We are going on a cruise and our kids are staying with family, so its nice to know I can phone them and talk to them.

Linda & Frank came and Frank played cards with us. It was so much fun and we laughed and laughed. Hubby was in rare form that night and the jokes were just flying out. He literally had the whole table rolling over. We decided that we were having so much fun that we would skip dinner tonight in the MDR, so Hubby ran up and brought some pizza down. He ate his on the way back and I just stood up for a few minutes while I ate mine. We were good for a while.

We started playing again and the jokes kept coming. Hubby got up to use the restroom and said he was going to find some more jokes. A few minutes later I hear Hubby screaming my name from across the casino. I turned and looked and there he was, walking toward me with someone dressed up as Gumby!! The whole table just lost it. It was such perfect timing. Hubby said he saw him in the mens room and the guy asked him to zip up the back of his costume and Hubby told him he had to come back to the table with him. I am so upset that I did not get any pictures but I was laughing so hard that I didn’t even think about it at the time.

We had a really great night and decided to call it a night around 2am.

Day 4 – Belize

 

We anchored around 8am but were already woken up by the wonderful housekeeping cart. We already knew we were not planning on getting off the ship. We have been to Belize a number of times and don’t feel anything is worth the 20 minute tender ride into port.

 

We got our bathing suits on and went to the Lido deck for breakfast. Hubby got an omelet and I got my usual scrambled eggs with salsa. We never really have any problems with the food at breakfast.

We stopped back at the room to get our towels and sunscreen and then went to the internet café to use the web for a bit. I purchased the 45 minute package for $19 because I knew I would be getting on the internet a few other times during the week and thought that the package would be cheaper than paying by the minute.

After, we made our way to Serenity where we laid out for about an hour. Hubby fell asleep then woke up and wanted to go down by the pool as it was really hot. However, before getting to the pool we had to stop by for an icecream.

We got a couple of chairs right by the pool and was able to cool off. The big screen was showing a Chicago with Earth, Wind & Fire concert and I thoroughly enjoyed it. After that was a Byan Adams concert. Another good one.

I wanted to go down the slide so Hubby came with me and I went down it 2 times. Tried to get Hubby to go but for some reason he never does.

 

We went back to the pool and I tried to get in the water but found it to be just a bit chilly for me so I just wet myself in the shower and went back to the chair.

Started getting hungry around 1:30pm and decided to split a Guy’s Burger. We had reservations at the Steakhouse at 6pm and didn’t want to fill up.

 

I have read so many great things about Guy’s Burger joint on the ship but really in our opinion, it was good, but it’s a burger. Was it the best burger we ever ate? No. Like I said, it was good but just a burger.
