Western liberty review march 24, 2012 with a great friendship formed

Recommended Posts

Hi carncruiser 1964!

I'm glad you enjoyed the "hoochy-mama" comment. By the end of our cruise, my DDs would whisper "look Mommy, another "hoochy girl". Even they recognized tacky apparel and they are 9 and 11.

Question for you: Mahogany Beach. Did you snorkel? Or did anyone in your party check out the fish? We love swimmin' with the fishies, especially colorful ones.

Thanks and looking forward to more review....

Once we got back to our room, we showered and made more drinks and just hung out on the balcony and watched the line to get on the ship get longer and longer and longer. Needless to say, we left late.

I think this is a good place to take a break. I know some of you know that I write and post my reviews at work. Unfortunately, the version of word is not compatible with my laptop at home (I have a new version at home), therefore, after I copied the review onto a USB port, it would not open at home. So I have no choice but to do this at work as this is where the review is stored.

A newer version, should be able to open docs from an older version. They are backwards-compatible.

If it's the other way around (newer docs, older software):

Download and install the Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack on the machine with the older version:

http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=3

This will enable you to open and edit the newer version docs on the older software version. It is very safe. I work in I.T. and do this for my clients all the time.

I am enjoying this review...thanks for taking time to write it and ESPECIALLY thanks for adding the photos!

I do appreciate the larger fonts...sometimes it gets a bit hard to read reviews on my iPad! (Yes...I am admitting I am old!)

I am already looking forward to your next review in June!

Hi Crewsweeper!

Thanks and yes we had a much better time in the casino this trip. Have fun on your upcoming sailing on her and if you get a chance, tell Sean in the casino that Brad and Michele said hi!

Thanks for the well wishes on quitting. We definately are going to try.

Wow...you got the free drink cards on the 2nd night!?> Well played!! :)

Thanks so much for the review. I am enjoying it very much. While I have loved and or liked all of the ships I have been on, I do absolutely love the Liberty the most of all. Thanks also for the photos, and Im also so glad that you put that lovely conch shell and it's inhabitant back into the sea. That is what I would have done too. Looking forward to the rest of your review, and I also like that you include the "not so good" it happens on most cruises, where things were not perfect, but I like that these "hiccups" did not ruin your cruise, and you sound like you had a wonderful time regardless. Thanks again.:)

Another great review!!! Roatan has been my favorite island for 20 years. Back before the invasion when you could get a castle. On the beach for 50k ..love the west end. But now really a tourist trap I am afraid. But good for the local economy. But hard to get to via flights.

My new favorite is culebra off the coast of puerto Rico. Always voted top beaches in the world and still not jammed up yet. Easy flights, part of the us, and San Juan or st Thomas just a short ferry ride or plane flight. Just did a week there along with the rain forest.

I was all set to do it and he gave us the authorization form to initial and sign. Of course I had to read the whole thing and it said if you have anxiety, heart problems, back problems, etc. you had to initial those areas so they wouldn’t be held liable for anything. Well…..after reading that, I just wasn’t as ready as I thought. Maybe in September when we go back.

This is an awesome review - thanks so much for sharing!! I had never ziplined in my life and chose the Clip N Zip in Roatan for my maiden journey. It was a GREAT intro zipline experience!! Don't miss it in September (jealous!!)

BTW - good luck on quitting. The Liberty was the last ship I smoked on - my husband and I quit a week after I returned from the Eastern itinerary with girlfriends. I did Chantix - he went cold turkey. It's been almost a year and a half. You'll be SO glad you did it!!!

DW was happy to see that you did do your toes again. You told me last review that you would. :D

I actually did my fingers and toes like this last cruise, not sure if I am going to do it for my August one yet, still have plenty of time to think about it.

Thanks for the great review. We'll be on the Liberty in July. Can I ask why you didn't get off in Belize? It will be our first time there and just wondered what things you've done in the past and what you thought of them. Thanks again.

We used to bombard Culebra with 5" shells in the Navy along with the haevy cruisers punding the island with their 10" and 15" shells. So be careful of craters and unexploded ordiance there! Glad to hear it's "economy" is changing.:)

They have snorkel gear to rent at the beach but we have not taken advantage of that. I probably will in September. I'm sure there are plenty of fish when you go further out in the water.

I spoke with the IT guy at my work yesterday and he said the exact same thing. I will try that. Thanks

Thank you. I like to write an honest review. We are dedicated to Carnival, but they are not perfect and improvements are needed. But, no one is perfect. Just trying to be informative for others to be aware of.

Thanks again

I would love to hear more about your zip lining experience. Any pictures? I really do want to do it.

Thanks for your well wishes on quitting. All the support is very motivational.
