Western liberty review march 24, 2012 with a great friendship formed

Recommended Posts

Awesome review so far...keep it coming...I'm 53 days from sailing on the Liberty and very excited to check her out!

Good luck on quitting...I quit smoking about 10 years ago and it's the best thing I could have done for myself and family~

Thanks, we know we will be very happy once we are over the hump of quitting. We appreciate the support.

I know Cava Antiqua is the tequila from the Tequila Factory/Musuem out on the Transversal Road, but don't know where it is sold downtown. I'll wait for you to tell your adventures.

I don't think I went to where you are referring to. Where is that from, say, Starbucks, downtown. My brother wants me to get him another bottle when we go back in June but would like to go to the Museum.

30 years of smoking 2 packs a Day! I used the Ecig for 5 weeks, and now haven't had a cigarette (regular or Electronic) in 9 months. Used the high nicotine for 1 week, the medium for 2, the light for 1 and the no nicotine for about a week. Good luck, hope it works as well for you!

We walked back toward downtown and stopped at the local Fat Tuesday. We wanted to make sure that the girl that makes the balloon hats would be working at the Fat Tuesday near our ship. They wrote down her name and assured us that she would be there.

WOW! I'm starting with the low, cuz I don't smoke that much and the cigs I smoke are extra light superslims.

No you went to the right place downtown. That's the store! I've never been to the store. The "Factory" (which really isn't a factory as they don't 'make' tequila there) is outside the downtown on the way to the East side, past the cutoff to the San Gervasio ruins. The guy at the Factory for the "tour" was a real hoot though and he had tastings.

Noticed that neither of you have yet to eat at Guys Burgers for lunch or Blue Iquana Cantina, which is suppose to have huevos rancheros and breakfast burritos and lots a good salsa in the morning. Just wondering if you ever did? Or did you have the fish n chips' ceviche?

*If you read my review from the Legend September 2011, you may remember that her and I exchanged her Yankee watch for my Yankee bag. Well at that time she told us that she had a daughter that was almost a year old. Hubby and I decided that we would get her daughter a pink Yankee jersey and bring it back to her on our next visit, which we already knew it would be March 2012. This was our 3rd goal in Cozumel – to deliver the gift for her daughter.

As we made our way to the taxi area, we stopped in the store and purchased that cute sundress that I liked. Hubby is so fantastic!! After that we got a taxi and were taken back to the main pier.

We walked around for a short while and then went to Fat Tuesday. We asked the girl that seated us if Giovanna would be coming into work and that we had a gift for her. She said she would call her and let her know we were there. Meanwhile, Hubby asked some of the employees about how to get my phone on for their free Wifi. Whatever they did, it worked, but I didn’t stay on too long just in case.

About 15 minutes later, Giovanna appeared and we hugged. We told her that we had something for her daughter and gave her the pink Yankee jersey. WOW! You would have thought she won the lottery. She was so happy and hugged us and kept saying God Bless You. She couldn’t believe that we remembered her daughter. That moment was worth every penny we paid for that cruise to get back to Cozumel and give this gift.

So we ordered the chips and salsa (love that salsa) and then had to inquire as to what was in it and how they made it. Our server brought a Serrano pepper over and said that it was the seeds inside and not the pepper itself that made it so hot. Of course Hubby had to test his theory and he quickly regretted it.

I ordered a yard of Banana Banshee and Hubby got the big bottle of Corona. Oddly enough, I switched when I finished my drink to Captain and Diet Coke and Hubby ordered a yard of strawberry/banana. Later we ordered chicken quesadillas and just relaxed and did some people watching.

We stayed until about 3:30pm and then headed back to the ship.

· Every time we go on a cruise, I see people with cowboy hats and always look at them and try them on but every time I do Hubby says it’s just not me. In the stores right on the pier I found this really cool Corona hat and thought that was it, I was going to buy it…until I saw the price tag…$41! Ok, I guess a picture of the hat will have to do. Although, I may change my mind and buy it in June

Once we got back to our room, we showered and made more drinks and just hung out on the balcony and watched the line to get on the ship get longer and longer and longer. Needless to say, we left late.

I think this is a good place to take a break. I know some of you know that I write and post my reviews at work. Unfortunately, the version of word is not compatible with my laptop at home (I have a new version at home), therefore, after I copied the review onto a USB port, it would not open at home. So I have no choice but to do this at work as this is where the review is stored. I sit at a desk all day and I actually have more time to do this at work than when I am home, so everyone have a great night and I promise to pick up tomorrow bright and early with the night in the casino with Frank and Linda - and WOW what a night it was!!!

We did try both Guy's and Blue Iguana. It is in the review later. Thanks for letting me know about the store. Not planning on going any further past the downtown area though. I did want to try the fish and chips but never got there.

what is this deli that you speak of and where do I find it? LOL I love sandwiches and that may be a great lunch choice for us!

The deli is located in the Lido buffet. Here's the menu from Zydecocruiser's site.

My DH tried it on our last cruise and loved it.
