Occasionally, the Stella Solaris would sail from Galveston too.

Out of the Port of Houston back around 1997 we had the Norwegian Star (not the current ship) and then came the Norwegian Sea. Royal Olympic sailed the The Royal Olympic Explorer from here in the summer of 2001. Premier Cruise Line did a few cruises in May/June 2000 before a tug got too close to the ship and got chewed up by the propeller. The tug sank and Premier had to pull the ship for repairs before the line went belly up later that summer. We used to have many more choices of ships and itineraries.

I did the Star and Sea. I started to mention Premier, I had a booking on them out of Galveston when they went belly up, but couldn't remember if they ever actually sailed from there. What you mention sounds so familiar.
