Have you ever done this... Shuttle to cruise terminal and if so can you tell the details please.? CruiserBruce Posted May 25, 2012 #2 Share Posted May 25, 2012 You are going to have to give us more info? Never heard of a snooze cruise. The "bunker thing"? Sorry, only 15 cruises under our expanding belts, and you have totally stumped me. Edit - in re-reading your post, are you spending the night in a hotel prior to your cruise? Is that what you mean? If so, no big deal, thousands do it every day. As far as hotel-pier transport, more info - hotel and port - would be helpful.
Happy ks Posted May 25, 2012 #3 Share Posted May 25, 2012 If the shuttle takes you to the port, they will drop you off in front of the terminal. Specifying which port may be of help.
lady_cruiser Posted May 25, 2012 #4 Share Posted May 25, 2012 And which hotel? I know one hotel in New Orleans that will bring you to the port the day you sail out. But, when you get home you will need a taxi to get you back to that hotel to pick up your car.
Rare Roz Posted May 25, 2012 #5 Share Posted May 25, 2012 Are you wanting information about flying to a port and staying overnight? Your post isn't clear. What port are you referring to? Bunker? What's that? Roz
fun!melis Posted May 25, 2012 Author #6 Share Posted May 25, 2012 Hampton Inn & Suites Charleston/West Ashley is where we are staying. Now never did this before they have a package you stay and they will provide a shuttle to get to your cruise. Carnival Fantasy is the ship out of Charleston South Carolina. So do they take you right to the ship for our carry-on's to be scanned and then on the ship? Or do we wait in the line of traffic with all the cars waiting to park then get dropped off while going through that line?
Rare Roz Posted May 25, 2012 #7 Share Posted May 25, 2012 My experience with ANY hotel shuttle, unless it's a hotel and transfer booked thru the cruise line, is that they dump you at the curb with everyone else. No different than if you drove to the port and parked your car. Roz
navybankerteacher Posted May 25, 2012 #8 Share Posted May 25, 2012 Sounds like you're on Carnival Fantasy June 23 from Jacksonville and you are flying in the day before. You should check with hthe varioous motels in the area to see which ones provide shuttle to the pier. While often free, they are usually crowded and not very convenient. You might do better getting a motel near the cruise terminal - hopefully one which provides free shuttle from airport, and the just taking a taxi to the cruise terminal the next day. navybankerteacher Posted May 25, 2012 #10 Share Posted May 25, 2012 He/she is sailing out of Charleston. You're right -- my mistake; but the advice regarding motel to ship transfer stands.

They drop you off on the street right next to the tent where you hand over your checked luggage, then wait for a bus to take you to the ship. Charleston is a bit different than other ports (you cannot walk from the drop off area to the terminal)

chipq Posted May 25, 2012 #13 Share Posted May 25, 2012 Each port is a little different but each Snooze & Cruise hotel we have stayed at, the hotel shuttle dropped us right where the luggage drop off was. Las trip out of San Diego, the Snooze and Cruise deal only cost about $30 more than just parking at the cheap off site lots near the pier. http://luv2cruise.blogspot.com
