A 'Legend'ary Review with Pics June 17-24

We pulled into port around 9ish I believe. There was a huge yacht right by us and DW’s uncle said it was rumored to be Paul Allen’s of Microsoft.

 

 

Yep, that's Paul Allen's superyacht Octopus . 414 feet long, it was the world's largest superyacht at time of construction in 2003 and presently is the 12th largest. He also owns the 303 foot superyacht Tatoosh. They're usually somewhere in the Caribbean, he charters them out when he's not using them. Maybe he was stopping for a visit at Bill Gates' place in GC.

 

 

Where was the Thirsty Frog Red available on the Legend? I had it on the Liberty last month and loved it and will be sailing on the Legend in September.

 

They had taps at the pool bars and Serenity bar on Lido deck as I recall off the top of my head. However, upon flipping through my pictures...I do see the familiar beer taps at the Atrium bar on deck 2, Billie's Piano bar, Dreamteam Sports bar, Satchmo's, the Firebird Lounge, the Casino bar, and at the Atlantis Lounge bar by the MDR. So it looks like you'll be pretty well covered...the only choices are Bud Light and ThirstyFrog Red, but it looks like it's just about everywhere.

Great review and great looking family!

 

Spirit class is our favorite class of ship and we will certainly miss Legend when she leaves Tampa for Europe and does not return until Nov 2013.

 

Don't understand what Carnival was thinking making that decision!

We cruised on the Legend two and a half years ago... looks like they've made a few changes.

 

You didn't happen to keep the Camp Carnival schedules, did you? This November will be the first time taking the kids, and I'd be very interested to hear details on CC on the Legend. If you had the schedule, even better. :D

We sale on the Legend on Sept. 16 - this is our first Carnival cruise - so it was wonderful to read your report and see pictures of the ship! Very nice family, too!

Is the Karaoke on the lido or did they have a lounge where it was held? My husband is a freak for it and knowing where to find him at the end of the day will be really helpful :D

Two years ago it was in a lounge. I can't imagine I could do it at the Lido... soooo many people! LOL

 

I love the Legend. Could have been because I had honeymoon goggles on, but it is a fabulous ship. :D Can't wait for November.

Karoake was all over the place! They did have it in the lounge on deck 1 (under the show lounge) when it was the Superstar Live Karaoke (when you sing with the band).

 

The other times it was right outside the medusa club and the dining room. Kind of an open lounge. There is a small stage with a piano on it and that's where you perform. People are walking through though at busy times.

great looking pics and great reviews of the ports....me and my husband will be sailing on the Legend in Dec 2013 for our honeymoon, this is my very first cruise so really looking forward to it
