What about the sheer greed of non loyalty plan members who continually say "move on" " they should just do away with loyalty plans" " Carnival doesn't owe you anything" because we want rock bottom prices. Screw long term customer so I get the lowest price.

I pretty much agree with them.

And I'm Platinum.

Seriously, quit your whining and put your money where your mouth is. Go to another cruise line if you're so Godforsaken unhappy with Carnival. All you do is complain when you should be grateful to be financially able to take multiple cruises a year. I can hardly stand to read your posts anymore. Sheeeessshhhhh!

Good advice for quite a few out here.

But understand that people have a number of reasons to come here and bash Carnival over and over again.

I worked for a customer service company and what I learned was...Make one person happy and they would tell 3 people...Make one person unhappy and they would tell 7/8 people....I'm just happy to be on a cruise ship...Dennis

I agree but it's does not apply to CC of the internet in general.

And people (trolls) are paid to post both good and bad on forums like this all over the internet. I know tobacco companies do it.

How many people cruise Carnival each week?

How many people on CC complain over and over again about Carnival no matter what?

How many people on CC who complain about Carnival have even cruised with them?

Remember there is NO fact checking on CC, you can say what you want true or untrue.

.. That would stop the hordes from buying in to the program. And yes - it is just another slap in the face to those who "earned" their "status" by being loyal consumers.

Did you really just refer to fellow passengers as "the hordes?"

wha's wrong with hordes?

The word "horde" is a negative (or derogatory) term for crowds and is inappropriate for the context of this discussion thread. Words can be powerful, and there is no good reason to "paint the picture" of fellow guests with such a color. The only reason I pointed out the use of the word was because, overall, this discussion thread is disgusting in that there seems to be such an odd sense of entitlement by those who believe they are more loyal to Carnival than others. It's almost like some people would prefer Carnival lock up all the non-Platinum guests below deck and only allow the Platinum guests to bask in the sunshine while strolling along the open decks.

As a long-time Carnival customer, I fully support their newest product even though they grant me most of the benefits already.

On a more personal note to H82seaUgo, you and I have never seen "eye-to-eye" on these discussion boards. I find your replies offensive and negative (and I'm fairly sure you feel similarly about mine). I'm sure you have many other important comments to make on other posts, so please feel free to devote your attention to them instead.

soory, but i'm not even familiar with your screenname.

but i do find it funny that a noun such as crowd could be construed as derogatory.

and do not fret if your opinion of anything is different than mine. it's what makes us individuals.

Would never pay this fee. Have my first Carnival cruise coming up and may never cruise with them again. Ridiculous.

If this is your first how could the Carnival loyalty program possibly have anything to do with you.

It seems you have already decided you don't like Carnival before you even start your cruise.

How many Carnival cruises have you been on ? I see 2 in your profile.

The part of this thread that is disgusting is the jealousy of those that have cruised many times, therefore referring to them as "entitled". They don't feel that way, it is just something that those with fewer cruises feel.

Yes. I find nothing wrong with a word that means a crowd of people. I find nothing degrading about the word, and it wasn't meant to degrade anyone.

horde   [hawrd, hohrd] Show IPA noun, verb, hord·ed, hord·ing.

noun

1.

a large group, multitude, number, etc.; a mass or crowd: a horde of tourists.

Maybe next time I should write "lots of people!!"

I'm a word nerd, so I had to go look it up to see if the connotation of horde had changed. It hasn't. It means a throng of people, and is synonymous with army and crowd. I don't take it as derogatory at all. Just a cool way to refer to a group of people. http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/horde

how many times i've been on the concierge line, to be told by some loudmouth "the line's back here.

or walking through the hordes in the terminal escorted to the front of the secirity line, getting sneers and sometimes even sly comments.

all those people jealous wishing they were getting that treatment. Yyet ii don' feel better than them. i earned it.

it's just how "they" think "we" feel. and unless they are betazoid, they don't have that talent.

At first, I thought the person had misread it, and thought it was, you know, that similar word that means prostitute.

Thank you. I knew I had used it in the right context, as I am a bit of a "word nerd" myself. And I actually went back to check to see if I had mis-typed the word as the lady of the night word!:D

I see the usual suspects are all here and defending each other.

I wish the usual suspects would take your advice.

BTW IMHO it was not a personal attack, just an opinion
