We're docked here for a day and don't want to take the ship's tour. We'd like to see Pisa and then Florence, but don't want to do it on our own.

 

We'd appreciate any recommendations for private tours or things to do.

If you just do a Google search for something like "Livorno Shore Excursions" you'll find a million possibilities! We've lined up a private tour that includes Pisa & Florence...but you can find trips through Tuscany, visiting Lucca, etc. etc.

If you read down the board, you will see many threads talking about activites in the area, and recommending tour venders like Rome in Limo.

If you check the boards, you cannot do better than Rome in Limo. We did Florence and Pisa with them, and we threw in Tuscany as well! All for 88 euros per person, with tip I believe. Our driver was Ricardo!

As it happens we are using Rome in Limo for our trip from the Civit....to Rome. I'll get in touch with them about this too.

+1 on RIL, we used them on our trip for all 3 ports, they gave a small discount for booking all ports with them.

Check your roll call to see if you can join others on a private excursion. We have done this on almost all of our Med ports on our first two Med cruises and again for our October cruise. Usually 6 - 8 pax sharing the costs - saves lots of money and you meet new friends as well.

I agree. That's a great way to do it, but this time we're our own group so we are full from the start.
