itsmebuggy Posted August 27, 2012 #1 Share Posted August 27, 2012 was wondering if nice jeans are allowed in the MDR
jlat Posted August 27, 2012 #2 Share Posted August 27, 2012 Yes, NCL is a very casual cruise line. Jeans are fine in the MDR. Or if you want to dress up, that's fine too.
Sizzlechest Posted August 27, 2012 #3 Share Posted August 27, 2012 Jeans are acceptable in the all the dinning rooms including the "formal" one at the aft of the ship and Le Bistro.

sdmike Posted August 27, 2012 #8 Share Posted August 27, 2012 If cargo shorts are allowed im sure jeans are fine.. I wear shorts tho no jeans on vacation for me According to the NCL website, shorts are not allowed in one of the dining rooms (generally the aft one) and le bistro after 5. The exceptions are embarkation and debarkation day. Shorts are allowed then too. This from NCL http://www2.ncl.com/faq#packing Wear smart casual if you are eating dinner in the aft main dining room (our more formal dining room) and in Le Bistro on cruises longer than five days. For women, it includes slacks or jeans, dresses, skirts and tops. For men, it’s jeans or slacks with a collared shirt and closed-toed shoes. Traditional Bermuda shorts along with long socks, loafers and a blazer are all acceptable on a Bermuda cruise. We want you to be comfortable, but tank tops for men, flip flops, baseball caps, visors and jeans that are overly faded, with holes or tears and worn below the hips are not permitted in main dining rooms or specialty restaurants. Kids 12 and under are welcome to wear nice shorts in all our restaurants.

If the aft dinning room didnt have a wait.. I dont see a problem with wearing cargo shorts But thats just me I know a alot wanna see dress clothes in the mdrs I could care less I go to get a decent meal b4 the shows.. ive ate in moderno but not le bistros
sdmike Posted August 27, 2012 #10 Share Posted August 27, 2012 I'm sure if they send you there due to crowding shorts won't be an issue. We did that on the Pearl, but it was embarkation day where shorts are allowed in Tsars anyway.
Susie51 Posted August 27, 2012 #11 Share Posted August 27, 2012 Freestyle is one of the things I love about NCL. Enjoy wearing your jeans, you won't be out of place.

geneharack1 Posted August 29, 2012 #13 Share Posted August 29, 2012 Can you also wear Nice Jeans at the Epic Club for dinner? Thanks
Hikini Posted August 29, 2012 #14 Share Posted August 29, 2012 There used to be a small sign at the hostess station in the MDR's that said, "Please, no jeans, shorts or t-shirts after 5pm, thanks." Now they don't even bother with that since so many people didn't pay attention anyway. But, my DH is very glad he can wear his jeans (nice ones). FLAHAM Posted August 29, 2012 #15 Share Posted August 29, 2012 Jeans, t-shirts and ball caps seemed to be the norm for men at adjacent tables on my most recent experience in an NCL MDR.
psyfi Posted September 1, 2012 #16 Share Posted September 1, 2012 If you are trying to keep luggage weight down, I would not pack jeans at all, they are heavy!
