Sushi on the Legend?

I read some recent (not-so-good) reviews about the Legend which disappoint me as I'm taking my boyfriend on his first cruise in a few weeks. It will be my 7th...3rd with carnival.

One of the reviews said that there is not actually sushi on the legend even though it is still listed on the website. Has anyone been on the ship RECENTLY (in the past month) that can either confirm or deny this rumor?

Thank you!!

Thanks for your response...I hope you're right!

Here is the link to the review that said otherwise...they just got off the boat---as this is the most recent review

Scary review concerning the condition of the ship for somebody going on the same cruise in December....and my first Carnival cruise at that.

Thank you for your responses, makes me feel like it will hopefully be on the legend. I LOVE the quality of the sushi on carnival so I hope it is on the ship...

@misstopgun, you'll be leaving when I get on! SO i probably won't be able to find out. We board on October 14th & I am so excited.

@zoey I know, I was really disappointed when I read that review! I will say, however, that some people can find the negative in any situation. This could very possibly be the case here, as she seemed to complain about EVERYTHING. I've read MANY MANY great reviews from people that just got off the ship as well so it could merely be a personality trait. I've found in life that when you tend to look for the good, you notice the good more...same goes for the bad. Imagine that :)

@Honeybadger do you know around what time you looked? I ask this because I've heard from a lot of reviews that the sushi is now on the lido but they only serve it from 5-7 pm. So I thought if you had early dining, you might have been getting ready by the time it started and it would have already been over by the time you were done with dinner. I'm hoping this is the case, I would be so sad if there wasn't any sushi!! That's one of my favorite parts!!

We sailed the Legend September 16 through the 23rd, and had a fabulous time. The Sushi is in the buffet by the salad bar, husband and daughter enjoyed it numerous times. We thought the ship was very clean, staff was excellent in all areas. The ship is showing some wear, but we didn't think it was terrible, she is slated for dry dock later this year I believe. Go with a positive attitude and you will enjoy your cruise.

You are starting with a really good attitude and that should make all the difference on how enjoyable your cruise is.

This will be our 4th time on the Legend. Even though we have been on bigger, (Dream) and 2.0 upgraded, (Liberty) we can't wait to be back on the Legend. She has always seemed to be the friendliest of all of them to us.

I know every time I go on a cruise some things will have changed, and some things will have been cut back. It's the nature of business. I get on the ship knowing if I am not content with my food, I can send it back. If I have seen the shows multiple times, I don't have to go again. If I don't find a new excursion I would care to try, I can spend the day relaxing on the ship or just get off and enjoy a drink at a close by bar.

Make your own reality. Don't look for things that are not up to par and you probably won't find them.

People that tend to compare this cruise with the last one are relying on others for thir enjoyment, not creating their own. How boring is that?

@misstopgun I completely agree! My boyfriend that is traveling with me can sometimes err on the side of negativity. I have to keep reminding myself that he has NOTHING to compare it to as this is his first cruise! I truly think he will enjoy it. & even if the quality isn't up to par--he won't know that & I definitely won't mention it! He is worried about missing the football games this week but I told him they may run them in the sports bar on the ship--not sure how that works. Either way I think he can go 7 days without watching his precious panthers or playing the "waiver wires" on his fantasy team. I have no doubt he'll survive :)

If I am not mistaken, Legends now has the taste bar where the sushi used to be and sushi was moved to the buffet. This is what I have heard anyway.I will know for sure after our cruise on Oct.7.

This is correct. Sushi is next to salad bar. More limited than when it was by the casino. Tastes the same.

Legend is a great ship! Easy to navigate. Only one show, a magician who should walk the plank, Legends which was funny as staff did a few skits which were hysterical. Fair comedy. Bring back Happy Cole! Great itinerary. Steakhouse was good but I didn't think great and wouldn't do again. Only problem with food temp was MDR for breakfast -- eggs benedict cold. Steward kept the cabin clean and the cooler filled with ice.

I didn't see anything frayed or in bad condition. Workers were painting and cleaning all the time.

I noticied the sheer curtain was not there in the cabin and the steward said new ones were ordered. Just taken down for the cruise I was on.

If you don't have a great cruise on Legend you got on the wrong ship!

First week of May. Sushi located on the Lido Buffet next to salad bar. Very good, but not chi-chi. California roll, that sort of thing mostly. I had quite a few pieces so I feel expert enough to assure you it will be good. :)

I appreciate everyone's response so much!

Any other advice you guys have for the Legend? Shows to not miss and ones to skip? Food that was particularly good--either on the buffet or at dinner in the MDR? Anything else that would help our cruise be the most enjoyable possible??

@cruisinpsych thanks so much for your input! I'm happy to her about the magician, i've heard that a few times now and even though I love magic, my boyfriend DEFINITELY doesn't buy into it--even really good ones--so i think we'll definitely skip it! We've also been fumbling with whether or not to do the steakhouse and I think more than likely we would be disappointed. We eat in a LOT of amazing steakhouses in our area on a regular basis so we have pretty high standards where that is concerned. It's alot easier to enjoy and see the positive in the free meals than in the ones you have to pay-per-person on a cruise so upon your advice I think we may skip that as well!

Keep the advice comin! I can't wait to cruise...only 16 days---any and all recommendations are very appreciated!!

Thanks for letting me know! Any tuna that you remember? I love good maguro sushi either in rolls or just on rice!
