Platinum C&A Traveling with Virgin Cruisers

Recommended Posts

On our next cruise, we may be joined by other family that have never sailed before. If they are on the same reservation, can they join us and board with us in the Platinum/Emerald section? Same for disembarkation?

Boarding is up to the staff member there at the pier; you can certainly ask but in my experience, there are so many C&A members now that often the priority line is longer than the regular line.

As for disembarkation, well, Platinum and higher members are invited to wait in a special departure area (perhaps the main dining room or one of the lounges) and are served coffee and pastries; in all honesty, it is a lovely "perk" for having earned that status (sorry, I do not mean to sound snobby, just being honest). Your family is not at that status as of yet and really is not entitled to be with you. Having said that, it's not really that important to have another pastry ;):p... you can all disembark together early if you need to. Just ask to be off in one of the first groups.

They will likely be able to check in and board with you ( to get that first great photo), but you can also wait and board with them.

We were a group of 10. 4 of us were D+ and the remaining 6 were new cruisers. They would not allow us to check in together. One couple went on, we waited and boarded with the other 6 to get the photo. We were on board maybe 10 minutes later - so no big deal.

As for the Plat. and up departure breakfast, I hope you will not try to bring others. This is a perk RCCL offers to higher level cruisers. If it is abused, RCCL may decide not to offer it any longer.

enjoy

Since priority check in is now afforded to gold and above, I would think there wouldn't be much difference if you just check in in the regular lines with your friends. As for the special departure lounge, you need to show your card to get in and it's strictly for those who have earned admission. Lots of other places to wait.
