Tip for room service?

Recommended Posts

We always take a stash off small bills and do tip room service. if they are bringing just cookies or just an ice cram bar (on a different line--my son has one daily) then we generally just tip a dollar but if they have to assemble a tray we tip 3-5.

I agree with the posters above that a tip of a few dollars is welcome. I just want to add that it's best to have the tip ready, because the room service people are in and out very quickly.

Room service was free/included on my last cruise, you don't have to tip. I asked/emailed RCC before I left. However we still gave $3 and that was for breakfast.

if it is for a drink, then the 15% will be added to your bill

While you don't have to tip, it is customary to do so in the case of room service as it is not included in other pre-paid gratuities.

The only exception I am aware of is the "off hours" room service (midnight to 5AM???) where there is a charge for any room service, which supposedly includes your tip.
