Because of what happened the first night in the MDR we wanted to get there at 8pm tonight. As we were waiting to go in there were dancers in the Piazza. Ball room dance champions Irina & Vasili.

When we got to our table in the MDR Russell was there to greet us along with 2 assistant waiters and Flaveau the head waiter. One of the assistants, Joel, was with us for the remainder of the cruise. Russell had our drinks ready to go, the same ones as last night. I'm always amazed at how the waiters remember what we each order after only 1 night and he never wrote it down. Service was back to normal. Food came out quickly and dishes were cleared promptly. We were very pleased.

After Dinner Aaron, Felicia & I went to the Princess Theatre to watch comedian Gary Delena. He's a musician & comedian. He was very funny.

I found a 9 minute clip of his on Youtube. He performed these jokes on our cruise

When the show was over we went to the casino. I don't normally play craps on a ship because nobody else is ever playing and when playing craps the table should be busy and everyone should be loud. Also the dealers on craps are usually pretty bad. The table was busy so I went to check it out. I ended up playing and stayed there for an hour & a half. I finished the night up $100. The dealers were just what I thought. They kept making wrong payouts and forgot to pay me a bunch of times. Well, until I told them they forgot. The table was great. Lots of action and everyone was loud cheering for numbers to be rolled. When I coloured up at the table it was almost 1:30am. Time for bed.

Uh oh, I hope we don't get these deleted for thread hi-jacking, except that since Leigh is actually singing on the Ruby right now, it is kind of relative to this review! Of course I remember you Corinne. Leigh did go to Nashville and record a CD over the summer, and she has been on the Ruby since August. Her contract is up in February. Unfortunately we are not able to sail with her this time, I was really hoping to but we have a lot going on right now. It is fun to read reviews of the Ruby and hear that other people enjoy the singers and dancers (although I recently also read a review that said they were terrible, go figure!) Have fun on the Emerald, are you doing the other itinerary this time?

Is Leigh the red head singer? If so she's very good and I must say very good looking. I was actually talking to her for a couple minutes one day in Horizon Court. I think we were both grabbing some food or something. You should be very proud.

After waking up we went up to the buffet around 10am. The whole starboard side was closed and the aft section of the port side of the buffet was closed for a private function. That didn't leave much seating. After searching for a few minutes we were able to snag a table as people were leaving. It was like looking for a parking spot at the mall during the holidays.

When we were done eating we went to the Calypso Pool and found a couple loungers. The pools weren't completely packed because the Expedia group was in their conference. With the ship rocking back and forward while sailing the pool became a pretty big wave pool. Sometimes the water was moving around so much the water was splashing out of the pool area and hitting the bar. It was a lot of fun to be in the water. There were a bunch of young kids in the pool unsupervised by parents. With the water moving around that much a couple of the kids were having a tough time. One kid, probably 11 years old, had drank a little water and was coughing. Allison grabbed him and brought him over to the side of the pool. After catching his breath he decided to go back under the water. He didn't seem very smart. Where were his parents? Who knows. With no lifeguards parents should be watching their kids in the pool.

Movies Under The Stars had 2 movies during the day.

10am - The Devil Wears Prada

12:15pm - The Odd Life of Timothy Green

At 2pm Allison, Aaron, Jodi, Caleigh & I went to the Wheelhouse Bar on Promenade Deck (deck 7 forward) for the British-Style Pub Lunch. Lunch was being served from 11:30am - 2:30pm. There is no charge for this lunch. We all had Fish & Chips which were very good. Jodi had the Bread & Butter Pudding which she said she didn't like that much. She's a picky eater so it might be because of that. I didn't take a picture of the menu, but here is one I found on Google.

Nathaniel, this is a great review, and since we'll be going on the same cruise at the end of February, extremely helpful. Now as a fellow hockey fan, can we just get the lockout settled???? Go Caps!

Thanks Jim! I hope you have a fantastic time on the Ruby. Hopefully the lockout will end soon, but I'm pretty sure the season will be lost.

While we were eating Dave went to the jewellery and bought himself a watch. It was a Citizen Eco Drive. After lunch Jodi & Allison went to play bingo in Club Fusion on Promenade Deck (deck 7 aft). Jodi won $100.

Before heading back to the pool I took a walk around the the ship and took some photos.

In the Piazza, Flamenco Express were performing. They were the same dancers that performed during the welcome aboard show. I didn't stay that long to watch. The female was talking on the mic again but I wasn't paying attention. I hope she was better than the other night.

Thank you very much! The track on the Ruby isn't big at all. It circles around the mini golf area on Star Deck (deck 19 aft). I was standing on the track while taking the pictures in my previous 2 posts

Hilarious that the people on the aft starboard balcony are sitting like they're on a bus with one in front of the other! I like to face the person I'm sitting with!

Great pictures! We did this cruise last March and I am enjoying the refresher! I also notice that Ruby hasn't moved to the new balcony furniture. Good!

I had gone back to the pool to meet up with Felicia. Everyone in our group left their towels on our 2 loungers. I asked Felicia why we had so many towels and she didn't just said everyone was too lazy to take theirs. I got a chocolate banana mocktail drink from the bar and put it down beside my lounger. I sat down and as I swung my legs up to lie down I knocked the glass over. I was quick enough to save half of it. I then sat down again and laid back. This time as I was picking up the glass I hit it on the side of the lounger and spilled the rest of it. I guess that's why we had so many towels beside us. It was like they knew I was going to need them to clean up. It was pretty funny. We were laughing pretty hard.

At about 3:45 we left the pool and went to see how Allison & Jodi were doing in Bingo. I didn't want to disturb anyone who was playing so I turned the flash off on my camera. Because of that the pictures came out a little blurry.

We then went down to the International cafe on Plaza Deck (deck 5 midship) for a snack. This was our first visit to the IC and everything looked soooooo good. I had the potato soup, shrimp salad and a ham & cheese sandwich on a croissant. Felicia had the soup and a slice of quiche. As we were eating, there was a girl walking around giving out milk & cookies. We thought that was pretty cute. I had a peanut butter cookie.

Gold by the inch was was for sale outside the jewellery store Essence on Promenade Deck (deck 7 midship). I bought a bracelet on my first cruise years ago. I hardly ever wore it. It was pretty cheap and the 'gold' started to fade. Aaron's had done the same thing and on his next cruise he brought it with and they replaced it for him at no charge.

Flamenco Express was back out in the Piazza

Princess Pop Choir sign up and rehearsals were being held at 4:15 in Club Fusion. I participated in the choir on my last cruise but decided against it this time. I never saw them perform nor did I see the performance time listed in the Patters. I don't think the choir actually happened. If someone who was on this cruise is reading this and saw the performance or knows why there wasn't a performance I would like to know. Thanks!

Here is the video of the Princess Pop Choir from my last cruise on the Grand.

Because I didn't go to the choir we went back to the cabins to relax. When I got there my invitation to the Princess Captain's Circle Cocktail Party was waiting for me. The party was scheduled for Thursday evening at 7:30 in Club Fusion. I took a picture of the inside but it came out blurry. I didn't notice that on the ship oooops

It then started to rain a bit. The rain seemed to be following us on this voyage.

Aaron & Allison were giving Caleigh a bath. While at Sawgrass in Florida they found a small blow up pool.

No wonder it's 16 laps equals a mile. On the Golden, it was about 3 laps equals a mile, but it's the Promenade deck, except for two areas that you have to go up the stairs for a short distance on the Emerald deck. Not a big deal, except when I was doing the cancer walk on deck walk, going up and down and into the windy bow for several laps, that was quite a work out.

I agree with Michelle, your photos are really good and it's fun to see Princess Cays so comprehensively. In fact, thanks to you, I now realize that I have never actually been to Princess Cays. The private island I have such vivid memories of must belong to another cruise line, because it sure doesn't look anything like the photos you've posted! I've been staying aboard, thinking "been there; done that." And it turns out, I haven't. Oh, well. . . . at least thanks to a land trip, I definitely have been to Eleuthera before, so it's not like I have to scratch a whole island off my list.

Anyway, keep up the report and photos -- really enjoying it!

I haven't been on any cruise that involved a private isle (last Caribbean cruise was in 2001, and I don't think Carnival had one at that point), so it's interesting to see what one actually looks like. I just showed my teen, and she thought it was interesting, too. And it drives my hubby crazy when someone takes our photo and doesn't compose it correctly, but beggars can't be choosers. He hates to have his feet "cut off."

At 7pm we were ready to go to the Piazza and Promenade Deck for formal night pictures. The Piazza was buzzing with activity and everyone was dressed up. In the middle of the everything was the champagne waterfall.

Commodore Romano was headed to say a speech in the Piazza. He had a few minutes to spare, so he went around to different groups of people to say hi. He came over to us and asked how we have been enjoying the cruise and thanking us for sailing with Princess.

Dinner was again very good. On the menu for dessert they were offering bananas foster which they were making fresh in the dining room. The bananas tasted a little burnt but were still tasty when eaten with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. I was planning to go see comedian Gary Delena in Explorers Lounge at 11:15pm. To waste a time before the show I went to the casino. It was no smoking night in the casino. There were 2 no smoking nights, the 2nd was Saturday. The craps table was again sounding good so I threw down some money. I ended the night losing $40 but still up for the cruise. Needless to say I missed the show.

Other things going on tonight...

7pm, 8:30pm & 10:30pm - Production show "Startdust" in the Princess Theatre

7:15pm & 10:15pm - Movies Under the Stars: Snow White & the Huntsman

7:50pm, 9:15pm & 11:15pm - Comedian Gary Delena in Explorers Lounge

10:15pm - Princess Pop Star Karaoke preliminary round in Club Fusion

6pm - closing - No smoking night in the casino

You can circumnavigate the entire ship on the Promenade Deck.
