Going by Sydney Ports the Radiance of the Seas will be delayed by a day due to the cyclone warning and she will depart Sydney on tuesday at 6am

For anyone watching the fireworks on TV, she should be in some really nice shots with the 9pm fireworks. as she will be parked at Point Piper

I would say it was staying for the fireworks on purpose.

Rubbish ....... The decision was not made until lunchtime yesterday...but it was a "bonus" for most of the passengers The vast majority of them were more than happy to watch the fireworks rather than sail through cyclonic conditions.............RCL will also lose a fair bit of revenue due to the fact they will not be able to open the casino until New Years Day when they sail so I don't think it was done on purpose.

According to Ports of Sydney , Radiance leaves the OPT at 11 am for the Point Piper buoy , and then leaves from there at 6am New Years Day.

The Sydney webcam should get a good view of her:)

Hi, we are on the Radiance and we are delighted to be staying put to see the fireworks. Everyone has to be back on board for an 11am departure - there are bets going on as to where we will be so maybe I will have a punt on Point Piper (thanks Bob;)

Bob, which way is the ship going to face - that's the big question (lol)

We don't know where we are going yet but who care about Noumea.

Happy New Year everyone!

Cheers

Di

Hi Bob, we still haven't been told. They are waiting to see what the weather is doing. I don't really care but the letter they gave to everyone says that it's clear that calling into ports in New Caledonia "as scheduled" will simply not be possible so who knows.

We were booked to do Chefs Table tonight but as soon as we were told about the fireworks, I postponed that:) You are right this opportunity is priceless and Im pretty sure the vast majority are appreciative of what's happening.

I will let you know as soon as we know. The M&M is on this morning so maybe the CD has heard something.

Cheers

No way..

When Norwegian Star was cruising out of Sydney , we joined her for a short 3 day cruise and spent Australia Day on the Point Piper buoy watching all the action. For the fireworks that night the ship had to move back in and dock at Darling Harbour as permission was denied to stay at the bouy .

The folks on Radiance have a once in a lifetime chance to enjoy the evening from a prime position.

Could you imagine the outcry from Eastern Suburb residents is they asked for prior permission.

Oh boy...

Yes that's us. We can't believe our luck.

The Captain mentioned that Champagne Bay in lieu of Noumea is a possibility, guess who is dining with the Captain tonight and is going to try and turn that into a reality;)

WoW not a cyclone in sight!

No way would a cruise company allow a change in a cruise itinerary without the passengers knowing the real reason? Like as "if" a captain and his girlfriend would want to see fireworks in Sydney on New Year Just as much as a captain wants to get as close to an Island as possible just to sound his horn to a friend and impress his girlfriend :D:D:D

Good on you for the big quit, Den. My incentive (January 5, 2004) was to save and cruise.

Thanks for the encouragement!

It must be "My Time" at last ? I have not had a single craving although I have been a bit grumpy and argumentitive with some other CC members in some threads! Better the ones you dont know because they dont say "for God sake have a smoke" and leave me alone lol:D:D:D

The Banner works well,I am half way saved to my first Grand Suite already;)
