We landed In San Juan at Noon and don't sail away until 10:00p.

I meant to say we "land" in San Juan, not landed. We aren't going until the end of May.

Land in OSJ at 11:43am, 1 hour to retrieve luggage, get a cab to the Carnival terminal, now it's 1:00pm and we have 100 lbs worth of luggage. What to do?

What can we do with our luggage in the meantime? Is there a service at the Carnival terminal in Old San Juan that will hold our luggage while we loaf around OSJ? What are our options? We obviously can't be doing much in OSJ with two large suitcases, a backpack, and a carry-on. How early will we be able to actually get onto the boat?

You should be able to check bags at the ship by then. Check your bags, and walk around Old Town, which is right by the pier.

More info can be found on the San Juan board:

When you can get on the ship is a Carnival policy. I believe you will be able to board by the time you get there, but best to research on the Carnival board, here:

You will be able to drop off your checked luggage with the porters at the cruise terminal. That will still leave you with any carryons.

You could checkin and hope your cabin is ready. Once you can get to the cabin, drop your carryons and get off the ship to wander Old SJ.

You check your bags with the porter. You will be able to go ahead and get on the ship, eat lunch, drop off your carryons whenever the cabins are ready. The ship is yours to use and to come and go as you please.

Have a great time!

San Juan is fabulous. If you are interested in a walking tour check out puertoricodaytips . com and go to old san juan walking tour. It has 3 parts. One leads into the next so you skip parts and still be headed in the right direction. We were able to do it in about 4 hours.
