No discounted deposit on the mock booking I just did with my Casino Rate :( The next lowest rate is over $500 more expensive. Looks like I will go ahead and book this week, using the Casino Rate, but no reduced deposit for me.

What is casino rate? how do you get that?

50% off deposits is not a sale. Sale means a cheaper price.

Check your dictionary....although I understand and appreciate the point you are trying to make....sale doesn't always indicate 'cheaper price' as you have stated

Is it for a 2013 booking or later....this EVENT only applies to 2013 bookings from what I can see

It's a 2014. Some have seen it for their 2014 ones

That is about it, they have seen it alright but when you go to book it shows the regular deposit, once again a 'Carnival glitch'

The Casino Rate shows up for me around this time each year. I think I first saw it at the end of December. I also have some casino credit that I will use on the next cruise. I guess it applies to people like myself, who spend - and in my case, lose - a chunk of money each cruise:)

I'm sorry if this has been asked before , I am planning a cruise for this summer either late July , early August(out of NYC) and see no sales/reduced deposits for the cruises I am been thinking about. I know its been said its for 2013...or will I just be entered in the contest? Thank you.

I booked Early Saver for my upcoming Dream cruise, and in the past it's gone up and down; no "sale" has been cheaper than when I cruised. But yesterday, the price dropped a bit so I got $37.50 OBC. Not a lot, but I'll take it. Confirmation came about 24 hours after I submitted the request. :)

Has anyone else noticed that it says "Changes allowed for $50" when booking Early Saver rate? We always book ES and I've never noticed this before...

Just started seeing that a week or two ago. Guess it helps when people book ES not reading the fine print. ES is still a good deal (no risk) if it is $100 lower than the next best rate. That way, if you make a change later, you are still not out anything. I'm sure they get lots of calls every day of people wanting to make changes not realizing there is a charge. I know our TA doesn't mention it when we book ES, but I already know how it works so its not a problem for me. Good that it's there.

Once again, someone needs to provide a dictionary to the community to look up the word sale. The word everyone is looking for would be reduced for sale, or even on sale.

Check your dictionary....although I understand and appreciate the point you are trying to make....sale doesn't always indicate 'cheaper price' as you have stated

"Webster Online - Definition of SALE

1: the act of selling; specifically : the transfer of ownership of and title to property from one person to another for a price

2a : opportunity of selling or being sold :

b : distribution by selling

3: public disposal to the highest bidder :

4: a selling of goods at bargain prices "

Although it is definition #4, I don't think it's so dumb to think of lower prices on something that is hyped as a "sale". However in this case other comments are correct that Carnival did not call this a "sale" but an "event". The OP called it a sale, which is what the thread comments should be directed toward. :D

I am going to book a cruise while on a cruise in about 3 weeks. If you do that, you get a $100 credit and 2 vouchers for friends. I have a listing of about a dozen cruise candidates that I track weekly that I will use to buy the cruise. None of the prices for this sale, I mean event, what ever, changed. The reduced deposit is the only incentive for this sale (Event) and the $100 credit for a cruise cruise purchase and vouchers beat that by a mile. So back to the drawing board and my listing. The CARNIVAL SALE (EVENT) E-mail is now deleted.
