I can think of several things which would not be available to all 4,800 passengers if all chose to use them, the spa services and spa passes for example and the specialty restaurants for another. Only those people who find an amenity very important to their enjoyment of the cruise will utilize them. Why should it bother me if someone else has use of something I have no interest in.

 

When you offer an amenity to less than 2% of the passengers and passengers have to scramble to get to the pier early so they can snag spot, it just seems wrong to me. With the restaurants, there are many available and I'm sure many hundreds of people have access to them throughout the cruise.

With that attitude the cruise lines will add hundreds of paid lounge chairs and than jam the rest of the proletariat into a smaller and smaller space, eventually getting back to the days of 2 classes of passengers.

 

When I'm on vacation I don't want to have to spend a week jockeying for lounge chair space, spa space, restaurant space, show space, excursion space, among other things. A week on the Breakaway was a hard slog.

Yes, but probably not all 4,800. How about Chef's Table, only 12 per cruise, I think. Bingo? Even the shows that are available by RES or stand by on the new ships I doubt would be available to every single person on board if they all chose to go. That's why there are lots of options. Something for everyone.

Posh was spectacular and worth the money since we had a spa balcony and not a full suite. On the Epic those with a suite could enter through the elevator from the suite pool area. I "think" please note I am saying "think" that Posh was included in the suite amenities as most of the people the DH and I spoke to had suite cabins. Perhaps past suite passengers on both could give you an idea. It was well worth the money on the Epic.

I see nothing wrong with having to pay for something like the Vibe. If its important to you then you will buy it. Another thing is cruise lines are out to make money like everyone else so if they didn't make money then there would be no cruises for anyone

Then perhaps megaships aren't for you. Life isn't fair, and there are plenty of exclusive amenities afforded to only certain guest populations. The Haven and concierge for those willing to pay for the Suite life, the studio lounge for solo travelers, the chef's table for the foodies willing to pay for it, the thermal spas for those who purchase passes or Spa Cabins, and Vibe/Posh for those guests willing to start their vacation a bit earlier.

It has been awhile since we sailed the Epic but the spa balcony includes passes to the spa for the week. I went to the spa everyday sometimes twice a day..it was heaven for me. The passes do not include any spa treatments such as massages, facials, etc. The cabins are close to the spa so it saves a walk when you are so relaxed from a treatment.

Vibe was NOT included in suite perks. We have been on Breakaway twice, once in a suite, once in an M6. We got Vibe passes both times, and had to pay for them both times. In my view, totally worth it. The reason it was worth it for us is because the haven was full of well-behaved but loud spashing children. You know, kids being kids. No children allowed in Vibe. Quiet, peaceful and completely relaxing.

If you're staying in the Haven, do you automatically get access to Vibe?

 

No...VIBE is not include on the Breakaway as a Haven perk.

Which surprised us since VIBE was included as a Haven perk when we sailed the Epic - and the Haven area is so much smaller on the Breakaway. :o

Still waiting on a definitive answer to this... Some say yes, some say no, my NCL Pre-Concierge isn't completely sure...

Confirmed - first hand experience! ;)

H2O is adult only and included with any cabin and VIBE has a charge and they sell a limited number of passes.

From all the other post's and thread's about Vibe you MUST be in the first boarding group because they do sell out quickly and they are purchased at Guest Services. I'm wondering if the cabanas don't sell out as quick as the regular weekly pass. From the pics I've seen there are only 5 and at $299 each there might be a couple left..I hope..:)

I was just on the 12-day Breakaway last week. The cost for the 12-Day was $129 and they told me it was $79 if I was on a 7-day. One thing I didnt know is that on that cruise and not sure about 7-days, I could purchase just the days I wanted as a daily pass. It wasn't worth it on this cruise for the whole cruise because the first and last days at sea was too cold and windy so they closed off the upper decks at the front. I was #5 group embarking on the ship and at that time I was #30th. person to get the pass. When embarking go directly to guest services on the 6th. floor mid-forward. You embark on the 7th floor. It wasnt busy at all for the whole cruise. It is open 24 hours (except when they close off the decks haha) and there is 2 6-person hot-tubs. It was good for the busy sea days as there was no problem getting a chair or day bed. Hope this helps

I looked and didn't see this question so please don't bash if I missed it. So you need to be in the first group, get to guest services on deck 6 quickly and hopefully get your pass. If you are with someone do you both need to be present or can one person buy passes for two people? Any other ideas and/or tips welcomed. Thanks :D

Both people don't need to be physically there but you do need the account card for everyone that is getting the pass.

They never helped me with anything like this before boarding (I am Golden level if that makes a difference). Even the pre-cruise concierge could do nothing beforehand, everything needed to be done on board.

doubtful - concierge won't do it for suite guests. It truly is first come/first served.

on Breakaway and Getaway, Haven guests have their own private sundeck similar to Posh. I don't know why a Haven guest would purchase Vibe, since they have the courtyard with pools and hot tubs and their own private sundeck right next to vibe.

 

In this pic you'll see Vibe with the 5 white cabanas. You'll see a white wall to the right of the last one. That's where the Haven sundeck starts. Plus the Haven gets everything that's under the roof (which is closed in this pic, but it's 2 levels of loungers with a pool and 2 hot tubs.
