Great review!!! I'm supposed to be packing for my Breeze trip but I can't stay off Cruisecritic . Going down a day early instead of driving five hours the day of. I LOVE your sense of humor. We are so similar. I feel ur frustration with the begging/demand for tips. I tip when warranted and very well....BUT DON'T HARASS OR ASK ME. The New Yorker comes out of me! It normally lies dormant until someone or something makes it resurface. Too bad your cruise was two weeks prior. I would of loved to meet you guys.

Rub it in, why don't you!! No, I'm just kidding. I was really :( that we missed Grand Turk but I'll take a sea day over the flying ____'s anyday.

Have fun!!

We MAY get to go to Grand Turk and I hope we do. But you were able to enjoy Butch as the CD and I understand we will miss him.

Loved your write up on tips and the great review. Would love to cruise with you and your family someday!

Good job! Thanks again for the great review.

I liked your soap box rant about tips. I always feel torn on vacation when I am out in port. I am a habitual budgeter. I can not help it, we have financial goals and in order to make cruising fit in with those goals, I have to stick to my budget. With that said, I try to fit generosity into my plan. But excursions and tours are not cheap....so after you spent $100pp, there is not much left over, and sometimes I think these people think we are made of money because we are American....when in reality the average American is mortgaged up to their eye balls and has credit card debt (side note: I am not the average American because I do a budget and stick to it ;))

Frustrating....but then there is the other side of me that thinks: Oh these poor people never have had the opportunities I have. They live in poverty and here I am about to get back on a fancy boat, dress in a fancy outfit, and go eat a fancy meal and I can't spare a few bucks?? What is wrong with me? It is hard. If they have earned it, they get it. But if they didn't earn it, they only get it if the budget allows and my heart is moved.

I hope I did not sound stingy, I truly am not. I like giving, but I don't like being treated like I am a golden teet!

Hey Girl. It's not too late to book the July 6 Breeze cruise to Aruba. You'd be a blast to travel with and your descriptions and pictures of your husband speaks volumes to the laid back cool guy he must also be.

You guy's take care and one of these days we may just come around a hallway and bump into each other and immediately start grumbling to each other about the definition of "a sea day"!

You had me laughing out loud this whole review. Like I often times will say LOL and not really mean it... but I literally laughed out loud. So thanks for that.

Also I LOVE Jamaica but I totally agree. I feel like they're the absolute worst about holding their hands out for tips. I think that's so wrong and that's a big problem of mine with cruising- automatic tips. What the heck. We're also really good tippers, I have no problem tipping for great service. I got to the bar and tip a buck a drink and have SEVERAL drinks then leave a tip at the end. Same at a restaurant. I leave 20%+some. But when I go on an island and I am ASKED for a tip it makes me sooo angry. I'm off my soapbox now.

Anyway, thank you so much for this review. I can tell how much fun you guys had and I appreciate that you were honest and fair. You went and reviewed without having to bash anything that was a tiny bit wrong and you did a great job doing so. Your writing is just great and I read this whole thread in one sitting. You've made me so excited to go on my cruise in April (not on the Breeze but I don't CAAAAAAAAAARE- because it is a cruise :)).

Anyway- I hope you have a splendid time on the rest of your cruises, we're going to Grand Turk on our cruise (hopefully) so I will let you know how it is. Thanks so much again- seriously! You rock. More reviews please :) (that means you have to go on a bunch more cruises)

Thank you so much! I really enjoyed writing this review. In hindsight, there were some things I probably should have added and somethings I might should have left out but I was pleased how it came out.

Have a great cruise next month and please let me know how GT was.

Thanks for reading my review!

Hoping you go on another cruise soon because I love reading your reviews. Maybe you can ask for tips for writing it so you can fund your next cruise.:D

I love that!! Too funny. The wheels are turning...

Thanks for reading!

I LOVE this review so much! Thank you for sharing your wit and wisdom with us.

For example, I actually brought $200 in one crisp dollar bills with me on this trip. I was ready to MAKE IT RAIN!!!

Me too! I’m not even cruising until June, but I’ve been hoarding ones and fives for a month now. And my husband also rolls his eyes at my tips sometimes, but I feel like it's only a few dollars to me, but it's going to mean a LOT to the server. The satisfaction of a job well-done goes along with those extra couple dollars and that is priceless. If I can help a good server feel that way for a few extra bucks, why not?

Why is it called a “day at sea”? Shouldn’t it be called a “day on the ship”? If it were truly a day at sea, then why don’t they have like jet skis and fishing boats and stuff you can use and go out and see the sea? I think that would be unique and cool.

Bahahahaha! LOVE it! That would be awesome.

Why don’t they have cabins under the water line? You know how they have the glass bottom boats and stuff? What if they had cabins under the water line where you could look at the “window” and see the ocean life? Would that not be the coolest thing ever?

Totally agree. Maybe it would freak some people out, but then they can get cabins higher up. I’d love it. Or even if there were a lounge below where you could see underwater. That would be cool.

Again, thanks for your awesome review. I loved it. Can't wait until you cruise again so I can read another one.

The video guy at Dunn’s River Falls did an excellent job getting the crowd hype and making it fun and interesting. After the tour was over, he wanted $50 for the DVD – I didn’t have $50 to buy it. I said no. He got mad and rolled his eyes, then walked the hell off. Then had the nerve to come back five minutes later and said, I worked hard today. I deserve a tip.

So in other words, he wanted a $50 tip, and in exchange you would receive a DVD ... it amazes me how people on these islands just expect to be given a tip (and often times for services that weren't asked for).

this guys asks our names and then starts carving them into these wooden figures. I’m like, what are you doing? I’m not buying those. He says, no, no, boss lady, these are my gift to you. Just take care of me and give me a good tip. RIDICULOUS.

LOL ... I had to really laugh at this. I tend to not give people in shops like that my real name. I would've totally given that guy one of the fake names I like to use, then after he was finished carving it in the wood, would've asked what I was supposed to do with that seeing it didn't have MY name on it. SMH.

Took a wrong turn. Saw a guy standing on the street. Said hey, which way to Atlantis if you please? You know what he said? Go right, then make a left through the shops. We said, thanks my man. Really appreciate it. You know what he said? Can I get a tip? ARE YOU SERIOUS?

Sure ... here's your tip for the day "always carry an umbrella" ... or some crap like that (but you get my meaning)

Thanks for the awesome review, I totally enjoyed it. Makes to look forward (maybe not entirely patiently) to my cruise in June. I will be writing a review of my own, and although I've written one before and it was received well, I hope that my review of our 8 days on the Breeze will be as well received as yours was by all. :D:cool:

Ohhh can you imagine the things you could see? All they would need would be some underwater lights hooked up on the side of the ship below the water to make viewing the marine life easier (you could see sharks feasting, dolphins frolicking, whales doing whale things, etc).

But since you mention a lounge, wouldn't a below the waterline (with water view) restaurant be totally awesome. Your lounge idea could be hilarious with those that had a smidge to much to drink ... LOL:D

I think I'm going to have to post another picture of my daughter on here since everyone thinks she's so cute. It makes mommy feel good to hear all the wonderful comments. So, thank you for that. And thanks for reading my review. Butch is a the shiznigity so take my advice and look for anyting he is hosting or attending and you will NEVER be bored.

Happy cruising!

"Shiznigity"? I have no idea what this means, but I can't wait to use it in a sentence!

Thanks for the rest of your great review. Hope you are able to cruise again, sooner rather than later.

Hey Pooh!

Hubby said he found you on the internal email. What cruise are you thinking about in June? We'll be in Vegas from the 18th through the 25th but if you're trying to go anytime before or after that, let us know and we may "fly" with ya! I promise I will try to quell my addiction to the slot machines and be more of a "team" player this time, lol!!

Which itinerary are yall doing on the Sunshine in November? Have you already joined the roll call?

It's a word play on one of those naughty little four little words I like to use. I think Snoop Doggy Dogg coined the phrase, lol. Trying to follow the rules, ya know?!

Thanks for a very entertaining review. I love your sense of humor.

I have family in Houston and Port Arthur...so I know your hometown pretty good. Hubby and I live in Northern California so when you mentioned Lake Tahoe, I knew you had been on this side too.

Looking forward to our Breeze cruise in July. Hope to meet you in the casino one day. I am going for those millions too!

All the best!

Traci
