summerlove69 Posted June 13, 2005 #1 Share Posted June 13, 2005 I am getting ready for my first cruise and have gotten a lot of great tips on this board. I am having a hard time finding a waterproof wallet-type thing to carry cash, credit cards and sail and sign card in when we go ashore. Does anyone know a good place to find these? Thank you, Bridget

Papajack Posted June 13, 2005 #3 Share Posted June 13, 2005 Try to find a Coleman store in your location, yes a Coleman lantern store. They have waterproof bags in a pack of three different sizes for $3.99 at the Birch Run store in Michigan. You should be able to find a location on the internet. I purchased a set for our cruise in Sept ( sting Ray City tour) I am 75 and super carefull about important doctuments.
Jdleong Posted June 13, 2005 #4 Share Posted June 13, 2005 Cochland's is the same as Coleman's but in Canada... it should be in the camping sections at Walmart etc
lchavez Posted June 13, 2005 #5 Share Posted June 13, 2005 Try REI - or a local camping store. :)

OCruisers Posted June 14, 2005 #9 Share Posted June 14, 2005 :D We have "Waterproof Wallets" BUT actually prefer to use small "Zip-Lock Freezer Bags"!!! :D We take a supply of them and just use a new one for each excursion. The small freezer bags are best ... but, we've also used those "snack sized bags" without a problem .... Happy Sailing! OCruisers :)
Mikel1733 Posted June 14, 2005 #10 Share Posted June 14, 2005 They were available in the gift shop on the Valor priced at either $5 or $
*CruiseFan* Posted June 14, 2005 #11 Share Posted June 14, 2005 You can get them at a dive shop - they have tons. My mom and I bought square ones last year and they had just enough room for our S&S cards, licenses, and we also put our traveler's checks/cash in them IN a ziplock bag. Just because they're waterproof doesn't necessarily mean they can't leak a bit :)
mc'smom Posted June 14, 2005 #12 Share Posted June 14, 2005 Any of the outdoor type of stores sell them, I bought one in Pennsylania at a Gander Mountain store once, they sold them in the camping section, the fishing section... As well as mentioned Dive shops... Have fun :)

Just because they're waterproof doesn't necessarily mean they can't leak a bit :) Just a thought! Maybe you could put "waterproof wallets" into "zip lock freezer bags"! :D Our "freezer bags" NEVER leak! :p Happy Sailing!
