The Voyage Personalizer secret?

The Real PM

Recommended Posts

Although I booked a few months ago, I procrastinated about logging onto the Voyage Personalizer. But seeing it is coming close to three months to go, I have decided it is time to enter my information.

However, as usual, I find logging on is difficult. No wonder I put it off. Is there a secret to it that I am missing?

I think it depends on what error messages (if any) you are getting from the Voyage Personaliser when you attempt to log in. If you could provide some further details concerning the problems you are encountering, we may be able to provide some further assistance.

Edit: I just logged in to the Voyage Personaliser and found it is responding very slowly for me at the moment. I took about two minutes for my login to complete and moving from page to page once logged in is tediously slow as well.

Regards,

John.

It says "We have been unable to validate your login details. Please try again."

And I have tried multiple times all with the same result. I assume it is not accepting the booking number.

Unfortunately, I am not certain what that specific error message indicates. If I type in anything incorrectly in my login information using the U.S. Voyage Personaliser (vp.cunard.com), I receive the error message "We could not find a booking that matches the details you have entered. Please check your details and try again."

I am able to recreate the error message "We have been unable to validate your log in details, please try again." if I attempt to log in to the UK Voyage Personaliser at (vp.cunard.co.uk) with my U.S. booking reference number. But I doubt you would be trying to do that.

Sorry, I couldn't be more help. My suspicion is that there may be something going on with your booking that may require a call to Cunard Customer Service to resolve, but that is only a hunch. Hopefully someone else has seen the specific error message you are getting when attempting to use the U.S. Voyage Personaliser and will have a solution for you.

Regards,

John.

I kept getting the same message when I tried to login and also assumed it was a problem with the booking number. I eventually found out that my date of birth had been wrongly recorded when my booking was made. As soon as this was rectified I didn't have any more problems.

Hope this helps.

my sister had this problem and its something to do with Internet Explorer 8. there is an answer on how to deal with it on FAQs - you have to click somewhere on compatibility and then add the website address. found it! - Click on the 'tools' tab in IE8, select 'compatability' then enter Cunard website address, close Explorer and re-start.

hope that helps :)

I have had a similar problem for all of this weekend and as we are leaving on 19th April and haven't been stateroom number allocated yet , was concerned enough to phone Cunard today to get an update on our booking and the lack of being able to check it all out.

We are a getaway fare so everything comes via the computer inbox.

BTW even the pdf's Cunard sent me will not print...apparently on google this fault is a longstanding problem but perhaps not relevant here as my computer is giving further problems and soon going for repair, so I was happy to try anything but I am not competent to tell anyone else how to solve the problem myself.

The lady I spoke to told me when I explained I kept getting the message "cannot find validation summary element.Make sure you 've put an element with this ID into your HTML document" message while trying to look at VP details..gave these instructions (I understood nothing of these shorthand terms BTW. so was willing to try almost anything)

go to Tools....

Look down list for compatibility view settings

add cunard.co.uk to the box you see . I also had the name of my server in blue which I clicked to add??? ( don't know if I should have done that ?)

I then added the cunard address and clicked.

Tried to get into VP afterwards and it worked.

Hope this solution doesn't mess up anyone else's computer .....if this is the wrong thing for others to try ..... but it seemed to do the job in my case.

Thanks for this info. I'm in the US and it did seem to help with the speed.

Again, thanks

The reason that you are experiencing difficulties is because the web site is a piece of crap (with all due respect and apologies for the language).

Well said. No apology necessary to me. Regards, -S.

Exactly. And Cunard customers shouldn't waste even more of their time messing around with THEIR computers to make it work.

Same here. Somehow they had my husband's date of birth in my booking and mine in his. Once this was corrected, it works most of the time with occasional times when it won't let me in. Suggest a quick call to Cunard, just to make sure that they have all your info entered correctly.

I couldn't get onto my Voyage Personaliser and persistence just directed me to P&O Voyage Personaliser, so I telephoned Cunards website helpline. The girl told me it's because their website is compatible with Windows 8 & I've got Windows 10. She talked me through the necessary adjustments in no time and it all works fine now. Very helpful, quick and useful service.

Changed to cunard.com rather then the british site and now I can get in. I have Windows 7 with Internet Explorer 10.

Thanks for this - I had exactly the same error messages, plus an occasional diversion to the P&O logon page, but your solution has worked fine since.

One minor quirk - when we booked through a TA we used our full names, as on our passports, but our records held in Cunard World Club have only first and last names recorded. The VP login seems to like the CWC version better than full names?

I have been directed to P and O several times...when the screen shows up in blue...you realise you are in P and O...don't even bother to try to go into your details....

You need your VP page to show up in red if you want to get into Cunard!

We've just been allocated and although we can access the details , it still takes several tries to get the VP to display your e.ticket etc.

The whole VP system is erratic and unreliable.....frankly it should be dumped because lots of days it is " under maintenance " so you can' t access it anyway even if you know how to get round the problem we've highlighted here.

I use chrome and once I get in, I always have to agree to the terms and conditions as a "first user". Does everyone get this too?

If its any consolation, people complain about RCL and Princess personalisers too.

Yeah, I did get that for a while, then it stopped. Not sure what happened.

It's Sharon Stone smoking a cigarette in the 1995 film Casino. For no particular reason. :D

Good to shake things up a bit. I'm liking Sharon's hair cut...can you please post a larger photo? I'm thinking it might work for me (not sure, it seems rather short). Thanks -S.
