Incredible post, thanks SO much for sharing all this!

I was happy to see in the hot dog eating pictures some men who were... shall we say not in tip-top shape? LOL. I'm trying to lose weight before my cruise in March, but...

I don't suppose the Oreo Cheesecake is available anywhere other than... was it Cagney's? Ocean Blue? I really want a piece of that, but neither of those restaurants really appeal to me. (I'm definitely going to do Moderno, possibly Le Bistro...)

Maybe it's just the way they make it where I'm from, but I've never seen kung po chicking come... whole like that. Here, it's always cut up into little chunks. And the Mexican Caesar salad looked REALLY heavy on the dressing. I've been spoiled in that department, because my housemate makes the most amazing homemade Caesar dressing. No restaurant we go to can compare. LOL

Loved seeing all the water shots. I'm one of those people who could spend the entire trip just sitting on deck watching the ocean. Or better yet, my balcony since, like Gambee, I'll have an aft-facing balcony!

Again, thanks for the amazing pics and the drool-inducing menus!

Thank you for this info. I have been on three NCL cruises, but the last one was in 1997. They had Key Lime Pie, but it didn't have meringue on top. It was more like a citrus cheesecake and wonderful.

I would love to go back to Bermuda, but probably won't be this year.

You're very welcome!

The hot dog eating contest was funny, I thought there would have been more stuffing and eating quickly. No.. they were taking their time. Maybe other sailings will have a more fierce contest! Anyone can enter, just put your name in the bucket. Go for it!!!

The Oreo Cheesecake is a Cagney's thing. If you go to another specialty dining you could always ask if you could get the Oreo Cheesecake. I don't know if you'll be able to get it, but it's always worth it to ask.

Haha, I've never seen Kung Pao chicken like that before either. It was one of my favorite dishes too. I guess they put a spin on traditional dishes. The Beef Stroganoff was nothing like I have ever seen before.

Once I mixed the Mexican Cesar salad around the dressing amount wasn't too bad. You can probably ask for the dressing on the side if you want to control the amount you get.

Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed the water pictures. I have tons more but I didn't want to over post water pictures. I too could stare at the water going by all day. You will love your aft view! I was very jealous of Gambee's aft balcony but mine wasn't that bad. I was able to sit on mine and enjoy the world going by.

I had the birthday party package for my husband. Along with a big round cake in our cabin, we also received a card to give to the maitre d the night of our celebration. This is what you get!

Mini Birthday Cake

I ordered the anniversary party package for my aunt and uncle will they get a little cake too? Was the cake in the room waiting for you? Can you get the little cake if you dine in a specialty restaurant? Sorry for all the questions. New to NCL. Was scheduled to sail on the Grandeur of the Seas but got cancelled because of the fire.

I ordered the anniversary package on the Sky and we only got the big cake in our room.

The big cake for the birthday party package was in our room when we came back from our helmet dive. There was a card with the cake that said bring this with you on the night of your celebration. We had dinner reservations at Ocean Blue and I didn't want to miss out on their desserts. The next night we had a reservation at Modenro (specality dining) and gave them the card. They asked if we wanted their regualr dessert or the mini birthday cake. We opted for the mini birthday cake because we don't like the desserts in Moderno.

I hope that helps you out.

Only through page 2 so far but where did you get the Coke in O'Sheenan's? Can you buy them on the ship or did you bring them on?

Love the food porn! Will be back when I get home to see the rest.

I saw now that you answered that question on page 6, sorry for the duplicate question but I got so excited seeing the coke.... :D

Another question, did you think you had enough time to see everything on the ship with the number of sea days you had? We want to do Getaway next year when it comes to Miami but I'm afraid with the number of ports we will have that we won't get to see all the ship has to offer. And I recall Gambee saying a few of the places were only open a few hours a day.

Thanks, that helps a lot. I will not expect the small cake. Great report!

Not small at all, we ate it for three days and still had over half left! We would grab bowls of ice cream from the buffet to have with the cake! Yum!

I'd say you could easily feed 10-12 people with that cake!

Lol, not a problem. I understand getting exciting about something and having to post right away.

Port days a lot of things are closed for lunch, so you do miss out a bit. I think if you have good weather you'll be able to fit a lot of things in on a sea days. We didn't have the best of weather on our sailing so we were trying to cram a lot in on good weather days.

I think you could spend 7 days never getting off the ship and you still wouldn't have enough time to do everything. I guess that's how they get you to book another cruise? There is plenty to do to keep you busy and happy.

:) Thanks! I think the pictures came out pretty good since I'm still learning the ropes of my new camera.

You're just kidding us, right? Absolutely Outstanding Photos, and all the things you took photos of which so few do. Can't say enough about your three review threads on the Norwegian Breakaway. Pretty Good is an understatement.

How much was the container of pink sand, if you don't mind my asking...maybe I missed it.

:):):):)

:o Thank you very much for your compliments.

The sand was $3, walk around the craft market until you find bigger bottles of sand. I found one that was a tiny box (think vintage pillbox sized) and they wanted $7!

I was under the impression that Taste and Savor menus were the same from what I read here, unless I misunderstood......and the Manhattan Room is different from Taste and Savor. However, on NCL website it states:

" You’ll find Savor aft on Deck Six, on the opposite side of another Main Dining Room, Taste. And although they’re located close together, these two distinct venues offer different menus and décor"

So, which is it. Are the menus the same in Taste and Savor and only different in the Manhattan Room or are the menus different in Taste, Savor, and the Manhattan Room. I'm a bit confused! LOL

It is confusing!

Taste and Savor which are right across from each other have the exact same menu but different decor.

The Manhattan room has a slightly different "favorites" menu. The steak option is different and the pasta is different. I forget which steak is in which dining room. The pasta in the Manhattan room is Penne with different sauces, Taste and Savor have spaghetti with different sauces.

The menu that changes daily is the same in both places.

I hope that helps you out :)

Yep it does. Thanks!

The specials page is the same in all three restaurants but the 'always' side is different in Manhattan but the same in Savor and Taste. I think I got it! Oh, and rib steak is an 'always' in Savor and Taste.

Thank you for all the pics of menus and freestyle dailies!! You put in such work to make it better for the rest of us! I won't be on until December, with the Florida/Bahamas itinerary, so I know my dailies won't be the same, but I am sure a lot of the activities will be the same just moved around a bit....thank you so much for the great preview!!
