Royal Caribbean Soda Package tumbler

Recommended Posts

I believe that the soda package would enable them to show their sea pass and get drinks at the bars etc?

Yes, this is correct. They can get the drinks at bars, in the Main Dining Room, etc.

Would my lad be able to order non carbonated drinks, eg juices, squashes?

Juice is not included in the soda package. It really is just "soda" and nothing else, unless there is a Coke Freestyle machine on the ship. I think the machine might have some non-carbonated choices, such as lemonade and flavored water.

What is the break even number of sodas you need to drink in order to make the soda card pay?

Three per day for adults. Two per day for children under 18.

Do they have diet sodas in the choices?

For sure they have Diet Coke. If you're on a ship with a Freestyle Machine (like Freedom), there are many additional diet choices.

I really must learn how to copy the quotes properly. My last message doesn't look how I intended it to, but never mind, the idea was there.:)

Click on the QUOTE button on the lower right of a post if you're only wanting to quote one post. If you want to multi-quote, use the (") button right next to the quote one, until you get to the last one you want to quote, then hit QUOTE, and all the messages you chose will pop up in the new message box. You then treat it like any normal reply.

Hope that helped!

Are there only two color choices for the tumbler?

Does it matter if the tumblers get mixed up within the family - thinking about the RFID chip matching the wrong card.

I was originally just buying the soda package for my two boys, but the flavored Dasani waters sold me!!

It might sound NUTS to buy three, but I know we'll use it with the freestyle machine!

Take a Sharpie marker and write the names on the cups. This will only matter to you. The machine won't care.

True! Also, when we find the tumblers in our stateroom, we won't know who's assigned to who anyway!

I might label them anyway just because one kid likes soda and one favors lemonade and fruit punch.

So does everyone head to Starbucks after their first trip to a Freestyle machine to grab a large long straw for the tumblers! :D

I have just come off the indy last month and I can answer this.

You will not need your tumbler, you just show your seapass and you will get it in a normal cup. Although if you would like the drinks kept cold the tumbler is a good idea.

If you have my time dining , I think you have a different waiter each night so you will have to keep showing them your seapass, but If not they will remember.

I have only just read about these freestyle coke machines. I agree I hope they have them on indy by next year. They sound good. It can be a pain to keep going to a bar etc to get a soda. :)

We had the new Coke machines on the Explorer last month and loved it. So many different flavor combinations and DH drinks caffeine-free diet and there were many flavors of this too.

Two machines in WJ and 1 machine on the promenade.

Is it me or these machine are ALWAYS broken? On the Allure most of the time they we're out of order. When we went to Universal Studios, most of the we're broken also. The nozzle where the water and the drink mix and drop to your glass fell into my glass in Universal!!! When i went to fill the second time there was this huge plastic thing inside my empty glass.. I was like WTH is that! Then when I went to fill it, I saw the exact same part on the next machine..

Sailing on Indy in March 2014 hoping the soda machines will be on the ship by then. Thanks for posting all the good info related to the soda package.

Marcy

So far they've only been putting the Freestyle machines on ships that sail out of the US year-round, which would not include Independence of the Seas. I know a few UK restaurants have started getting Freestyle machines, so hopefully Royal Caribbean can arrange to get supplies in the UK in the near future.

We buy 3 soda packages as well, and my family has vastly different tastes in beverages. We bring different colored elastic hair ties with us. Slip it on the tumbler, it sits in one of the grooves, and everyone always gets the correct cup.

One of our cups broke on the second day and guest services replaced it for us without any issues. I'm not sure what would happen if you lose the cup but i'm guess they'd maybe deactivate the chip in the lost cup and give you a new one like room key cards maybe. I'm not sure how they'd know the lost one though.

Do not lose or misplace your cup if you intend to use the Freestyle machines. My husband and I were on the Freedom of the Seas in May. We were in the casino on the afternoon of the first sea day and DH accidently left his drink cup behind at a slot machine. He went back within minutes of realizing and the cup had been picked up by another guest, and he had an idea who actually did pick it up. He looked and looked again to make sure and then went to guest services to see about getting another cup. They advised that there is nothing they can do and he would have to purchase another soda package if he wanted another cup even though he had his original receipt as proof of purchase.

I don't know if I like the idea of having to carry around a cup. Is there a fountain soda option still available where you show your sea pass at any bar on ship. (The old fashioned way, not using the free style machines?)

That just seems wrong!
