miss_rach Posted June 28, 2013 #1 Share Posted June 28, 2013 When we disembark the ship in the Caymans what form(s) of ID do I need to bring to get back on? I'd like to keep out PPs on the ship and just bring DL's. Can we get back on with DL's? Will a Military dependent ID card work to get back on? My son is only 15 and has no DL. Cheers! Capt_BJ Posted June 29, 2013 #2 Share Posted June 29, 2013 I normally take ship card and driver lic, but military ID works. It just needs to have a photo. DD has even used school ID but officially a minor with parent does not need an ID, just the ship card .... but check details for your particular line. OCruisers Posted June 29, 2013 #3 Share Posted June 29, 2013 To return to the ship from a port stop you'll need to have your cruise card and a government issued photo ID. Your <16 year old son will need his cruise card.
cb at sea Posted June 29, 2013 #4 Share Posted June 29, 2013 Your DL is fine....same size as your ship's key!
Rare Keith1010 Posted June 29, 2013 #5 Share Posted June 29, 2013 I first want to note that this all depends on the cruise line. When you are in the Caymans you will tender back to the ship so it's up to the ship to decide this. On cruise lines we sail all we would need is our ship board card. On some cruise lines you need a drivers license and ship card. Keith
wrigley80 Posted June 30, 2013 #6 Share Posted June 30, 2013 We only ever take our sail and sign card with us....the only stop where we have ever been asked for an ID is in Nassau. When we said we didn't have it with us we continued on with no problems
OCruisers Posted June 30, 2013 #7 Share Posted June 30, 2013 We've been ask in Grand Cayman a couple of times to show our photo ID prior to getting on the tender ... but that hasn't happened every time. You just never know so it's best to have it with you. LuLu ~~~~
