Wont be back in time to do a Luau. Not knowing what you enjoy doing makes it difficult to make a suggestion...are you seeking entertainment, going to dinner or something else? Most things in Kahului at night are geared towards locals & resort hotels in West & South Maui have more things for tourists. Maybe drive to Lahaina to enjoy the historic old whaling town & dinner at one of the many enjoyable restaurants? Going to South Maui (Wailea, Makena, Kihei) is mostly resorts without someplace like Lahaina. Dinner at Mama's Fish House about 15 minutes from the POA is a splurge ($40+ entrees, $18 Mai-Tai) but great fresh seafood. Da Kitchen near the pier has great 'ono-licious' local-style food & is crowded with locals enjoying things like teriyaki beef/chicken, kalua pork, loco-moco, etc. :D
cb at sea Posted September 10, 2013 #3 Share Posted September 10, 2013 After the Road to Hana, you'll be tired! It's a LONG drive on iffy roads. There are lots of restaurants and nightlife around. Grab a guidebook at your library, get an idea of what venue you might enjoy, then google it's website to see what entertainment might be there! PCWalton1 Posted September 10, 2013 #4 Share Posted September 10, 2013 You didn't say if you are driving yourself, but if you are you will probably be tired after traveling to Hana. A nice way to unwind would be to stop in Paia and get a nice meal before heading back to Kahului. The Paia Fish Market is perfect for that, you can google them to see what it is like. Great place for tasty fresh fish cooked the way you like it. Then leisurely wander the shops before going to Ono Gelato to get some fresh fruit gelato. Nice way to end the day. :) Bill
