Sea Turtle Posted October 15, 2013 #176 Share Posted October 15, 2013 Fun-filled, lighthearted review! :) Although the photos are great, I'm still not on board with trying one of these ships. Parts of it look too much like the mall--oh, how I hate the mall. Glad to read your mother is on the road to recovery. Look forward to meeting you. Looks like several other solo cruisers on our December sailing. 51 days until the all aboard signal at the LYH Amtrak station.

maureencruiser Posted October 16, 2013 Author #181 Share Posted October 16, 2013 Day 4- Falmouth, Jamica This was my first time in Falmouth. I had been to Jamaica before, I even got kinds sorta abducted one time. :o So, after yesterday's hot mess in Labadee, I knew I would be getting an earlier start today. Who said I'm not a quick learner? So, off to Park Cafe for a breakfast burrito and an Egg McMuffin. Oh, excuse me, I meant a non-trademarked breakfast sandwich that Royal Caribbean invented. I had thought about going bobsledding while I was here, but, decided against it. Instead, I just wandered around for a while, shopping for souvenirs. I like the big, colorful displays that you see while shopping in the Caribbean, the straw market kinds of things. They make me smile! This is a large office building in Falmouth. Oh, wait, no it's not, it's the Allure behind what passes for large in Falmouth. Shopping. I bought one of these kittycats! $13. The Owl and the Pussy-Cat By Edward Lear I The Owl and the Pussy-cat went to sea In a beautiful pea-green boat, They took some honey, and plenty of money, Wrapped up in a five-pound note. maureencruiser Posted October 16, 2013 Author #182 Share Posted October 16, 2013 There is one of these here, if you like them! More wood carvings. More I bought my coworkers the best souvenirs $2 can buy (screw em' - they never get me anything and I came home from Hawaii with tons of stuff for those ungrateful bastards, I mean my friends.) ;) Then, back to Park Cafe for a nice salad. For anyone interested, since we were now at the halfway point.

maureencruiser Posted October 16, 2013 Author #184 Share Posted October 16, 2013 Oops, I forgot, I also had a tuna fish sandwich. It was like three inches thick. I was scooping out the tuna like I thought there was a prize inside. Ok, a tangent, since we are at the halfway mark, they were offering the bag of laundry special. For comparison purposes, here is the bag next to a standard pillow. Pay no attention to the photo bombing panda, he is such a show off! The bag even has a gussett like a pillow does. My view of Falmouth. Goodbye!

maureencruiser Posted October 16, 2013 Author #186 Share Posted October 16, 2013 Ok, here is Mort again and I still don't know what he is. Quit acting like y'all ain't seen Madagascar! Somebody knows what this thing is! Don't make me google it, y'all riding the carousel and sitting in the front row at the Dreamworks parade, you know what he is! I swear to God, if someone doesn't tell me, I'm turning this review around and we're going back to Ft Lauderdale! See how my Southern comes out when I'm mad? I couldn't stay mad at you guys. I googled it, he's a mouse lemur. I see it, now! Ok, now what the heck are these things and why is one of them copping a feel? I brought in Cynthia to keep an eye on them. The little boy let me look inside his cabin. These are the flashing glasses. The How to Train your Dragon Ice Show was today. I hadn't seen the movie (surprise, surprise), the show seemed to just be a retelling of that , but, the costumes were impressive, especially the dragon. They did him/her like the War Horse from a few years ago, 2 puppeteers operating it. For dinner tonight, I had 2 slices of Sorrento's pizza and a Coke when I had ordered a Diet Coke.
Cruzin-K Posted October 16, 2013 #187 Share Posted October 16, 2013 (edited) ... and a Coke when I had ordered a Diet Coke.  That's horrible! Did you complain to guest services? maureencruiser Posted October 16, 2013 Author #188 Share Posted October 16, 2013 At 10pm, we had the Disco Party in the Promenade, it was packed. Since I don't like to leave Deck 6, I watched from the staircase. I'll see if I have any halfway decent pics. Well, this gives you an idea of how packed it was (and what a terrible photographer I am). It looks like the Rising Tide Bar is a good place to be for this. The bartender has a giant afro, if you can make it out. They played, Everybody was Kung Foo Fighting and look who showed up. OMG, I'm having a flashback! Oh sure, bring out the half naked men and look who decides Deck 5 isn't so far away, after all? And, figures out how to take a picture! Check out the tattoos on Zach, the Assistant CD! wrp96 Posted October 16, 2013 #189 Share Posted October 16, 2013 It was good of you to risk the stairs so that we could get pictured of the half naked men, um I mean the disco party.;)
maureencruiser Posted October 16, 2013 Author #190 Share Posted October 16, 2013 After all that fun, the Headliner at the show was Kenny James. He was very good and quite the entertainer, what a showman. His son played bass for him. He sang Butterfly Kisses, which I think is the wimpiest, sappiest, stupidest song ever written. Hearing him sing it made me think of my Dad, who passed in 1997 and I cried like a baby. :o After that, it was off to Battle of the Sexes. That was so much fun! I laughed and laughed! I like the game shows and things like that that they do. When people participate in something, it is so much more fun than just watching from the sidelines. What good is sitting alone in your room? Come hear the music play. Life is a Cabaret, old chum, Come to the Cabaret. Put down the knitting, The book and the broom. Time for a holiday. Life is a Cabaret, old chum, Come to the Cabaret. A free cruise? :D :p Oh yes, I am A Diamond, after all, I demand a certain level of respect. :p They gave me an eight nighter on the Grandeur. Out of Baltimore, of all places! Oh, the horror!! It was good of you to risk the stairs so that we could get pictured of the half naked men, um I mean the disco party.;) There sure were a lot of half naked men on this ship or maybe I am just good at finding them? maureencruiser Posted October 16, 2013 Author #193 Share Posted October 16, 2013 Day 5 - At Sea -The Day I learned what Oscar, Oscar, Oscar means. Another sea day, another Park Cafe breakfast - 2 Egg McMuff - 2 breakfast sandwiches. And some fruit, with what I really wanted behind it. And then, since I had so much fun at the Aqua Theater, I went on the Backstage Tour. The floor of the Aqua Theater, kind of looks like where the spaceship from Close Encounters would land, if you ask me. When the divers go under water and don't come back, it turns out they really don't drown, they climb out of this hatch. Sounds official Now that I see how it's done, I'm sure I could do it! Step one, learn to swim!
maureencruiser Posted October 16, 2013 Author #194 Share Posted October 16, 2013 Into the bowels we go! Oh, that's good, they have fresh water. Oh no, is it all a lie? I was in this area! What's he tripping on, the diving board? This man tried on the usher's hat. He doesn't seem to care, but, you can tell his wife knows it's wrong! maureencruiser Posted October 16, 2013 Author #196 Share Posted October 16, 2013 This seems like something I shouldn't have taken a picture of, but, I did - naughty, naughty! OMG, A lot of fuss over a hot dog! Ok, I could have learned here what Oscar meant, but, I was too busy taking the picture to read what it said. The show takes a lot of work Be prepared This is Jesse - his Mom was on our roll call, came all the way from Australia to see her son!
maureencruiser Posted October 16, 2013 Author #197 Share Posted October 16, 2013 Jesse, again, in case his Mom is reading this. I bet!! maureencruiser Posted October 16, 2013 Author #200 Share Posted October 16, 2013 Ok, next up was the Vintage Swimsuit Fashion Show - good looking men and women in old-timey bathing suits. Sure, why not, it's a good way to waste some time and secure a good seat for the International Men's Belly Flop Competition. Now, you lucky readers will get to view what I like to call Bonus Footage. It was during the show that the call went out, Oscar, Oscar, Oscar, which I now know means Man Overboard. Some passengers reported seeing something that looked like a person waving his arm out in the water. Since we were halfway between Jamaica and Cozumel, he probably shouldn't have been out there. I didn't know what it meant then, though, and the show continued and I believe I captured the exact moment of the sighting. While perusing the bathing suits, be sure to look at the passengers in the background. Notice how their posture goes from, Here I am leaning on the railing to Holy ****, is that a dead body? An officer even shows up to make it all official. Enjoy!!
