I saved all of the Cruise 'Compass from each day. So, I can tell you when things happened at what times. I will not scan them since it would be 13 days X 4 pages. [i picked up a royal tots compass, too. I will do one posting on the kids.

Lets do some more pictures of the Legend of the Seas.

 

This is the Schooner bar. It is between the Casino and Centrum on one side of the ship on deck 4.

 

 

This is the Anchors Away Lounge. [sorry that my interior shots are blurry—the flash is useless in this large space] It was decorated for Halloween.

 

 

This is the Centrum from deck 7. You can see the bling they had added during the refit. Also, the chandelier used in one of the aerial acts was out for practice.

This is the 9 hole mini-golf course. There were many tournaments held on this course. We played mini-golf on three days. There was no way to predict who would win. [skill was no the deciding factor—wind and ocean motion were the key] I beat DH 2 out of 3 times.

 

 

Shuffleboard was popular, too. The same factors applied here as in mini golf.

Another very popular venue everyday was the track. Four times around the deck equals 1 mile. We did this each sea day morning. [we reasoned we earned dessert LOL]

 

 

 

We never used this but it was always busy.

 

 

These are Solarium pictures. It was always crowded. These were taken at 7:12 am. Note that there is one woman in her chair and a man swimming. The rest belong to the chair hogs. The towels were out by 6:30 each morning. We ate breakfast here most mornings. The fruit and yogurt parfaits were a light healthy breakfast. [since I ate like a champ the other two meals].

 

We ate at the Park Café for lunch a few times. But, at first it was not open for lunch. When it did start opening for lunch it began serving at 1p. However, it was never listed as open for lunch in the Cruise compass.:confused:

I have frequently seen the question regarding activities for Halloween. Our cruise began on October 30. There were decorations in all of the public areas.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Many cruisers wore costumes to dinner and there was a big party in the Lounge.

A couple from our dinner table won the costume prize. [Raggedy Ann and Andy]

I guess I should give a few details on us—since it will affect the way we experienced the cruise. DH and I are 60 something veteran cruises. We are relatively fit and have no mobility issues. [but we were not veteran cruisers compared to many on this cruise.]

 

We were Emerald when we started this TA and finished as Diamond. [insert a happy dance here]. However, there were so many diamond and above cruisers on this cruise they moved the evening cocktails to a larger venue.

 

My reason for mentioning our Royal Caribbean status [or lack of] is the importance of access to the Diamond or Concierge Lounge. On a cruise that had 9 sea days the ability to “hang out” with your friends each evening and to have another place to sit during lunch [when the windjammer is crazy] is huge.

 

Also, although I bought a small Internet package to check email a couple of times I did feel pretty cut off from life. The other 3 couples at our dinner table were diamond and above. They often came to dinner with updates of things happening around the ship and around the world. [even CNN blacked out for a time on our ocean voyage]. This was a frequent sight:

 

 

 

This posting is not intended as a whine. We had a great time. But, most of the comments on TAs I got before I left home were from Diamonds and above. I feel the experience is different [not better or worse] for those who are not.

 

I feel it is really important to join the roll call activities. It gives you a circle of friends. We did—and participated in all of the activities. I will post those later.

One last question ..... On the three "informal" nights did jacket/tie seem to be the norm? I'm bringing tux for the formal nights and considering bringing a suit for the informal nights. My only previous cruises of this length have all been on Celebrity with does not do informal nights anymore, just formal and smart casual. On my 10/11 night cruises with RCCL I found the informal nights had very few men wearing jacket/tie.

I was also on this cruise. Let me say what people wear doesn't effect my cruise experience. But when they say "informal", people take it seriously. I saw people wearing jeans, t-shirts and cowboy hats, and every combination of the above in the main dining room at night.

Been on many TAs and often there is no TV or Internet......even when not on a TA we have it happen.:D:eek:

We were on the same TA, and to my knowledge the internet was available the entire time. Many TV channels went off the air from about Tenerife to maybe a day out of Ft. Lauderdale, and this was the same thing that happened on the Voyager TA 2 years ago.

No special section of the Windjammer--there was seating in the diamond and concierge lounges which was on the same deck [next to the Solarium].

 

Maybe a Diamond or D+ can tell if there was any other venue.

One of our Roll call activities was a cabin crawl.

 

Here we met in the Schooner bar to begin the crawl. I got pictures of most of the rooms. A couple were just to crowded to get a picture.

The DL cocktail hour was moved to the forward lunge (Anchors Aweigh). The CL cocktail hour was held in the CL, which was full every night.

Thanks--doing the reviews helped me think back to what I did.

 

You will enjoy Barcelona. There is so much to see and do.

 

DH and I have decided it was the easiest we have ever had boarding a ship. Even our luggage was delivered before the muster drill.

There were lots of activities to keep us busy.

 

Here was a "Walk for Wishes” activity to raise money for the Make a Wish foundation. Participsnts got one of the white T-shirts you see in the pic. the captain and staff was available to sign them:

 

 

 

 

 

 

The top tier Crown and Anchor [platinum and above] event was held in the Solarium. It was a very nice event. They moved all of the lounges from around the pool. They did this one night for a “White Party.” [but, I forgot the camera]

There was a “Fancy card making class” each sea day during the cruise. It was led by Rebecca Kern [in white shirt below] from Tucson, AZ. I had never done this before—but, had a good time doing it.

 

She had a crowd. On most days the conference room was full. I counted 74 people one day. The word spread that she had a good class. By the end of the session around 6-8 men had joined us. She even gave out door prizes.

 

 

 

 

 

She brought all of the supplies and the class was free. [this pic looks ike the room is empty--but, the room was full when the class began.

We had a Cruise Critic slot pull on a sea day. As a group we came out even. That was a win in my book.

 

 

 

Here was the big winner. Notice the 7s all the way across.

 

 

 

 

Poker Run—we visited 5 bars on the ship and got a card in an envelope in each. At the last place eqach person opens their cards and the best hand wins. We had 51 people participate, so we had several decks. A hand of 4 deuces won. [DH had 3 kings] Close but not good enough. The second highest hand was a straight. Here we were pulling an envelope from a bag at one of the bars.
