First time on Enchantment, a report with pictures!

Enchantment of the Seas:

It's hard to believe that Enchantment of the Seas has been calling Port Canaveral its home since April, and that during the intervening months I haven't had a chance to sail on her. I had cruised on Monarch several times, so I was excited to finally see her replacement.

We picked up our friend Kathy and set out for Port Canaveral around 1130 and made it to the terminal around 130. After a brief visit with Lord Timothy we headed into the terminal. The crowds were light and we were on the ship within about ten minutes.

After spending ten days on Vision last year Enchantment seemed familiar, aside from the extra features added during her lengthening. She also boasts many freshly refurbished areas. The old Champagne Bar that sat at the bottom of the atrium has been replaced by the elegant and modern R Bar. The Enchantment also has a Boleros lounge between the lobby and the casino which looks like a smaller version of the one on the old Monarch.

Our cabin was #8547, an interior room on deck 8. It was the same size and configuration as the one we had on the Vision. It had the digital safe, and an attack shower curtain. Our steward Samy was great, and kept it spotless for us.

The Enchantment's pool deck also benefited from the stretch, it now features two main pools flanked by four whirlpools and a large video screen. The ship's adults-only Solarium pool area now has the Park Cafe. Park Cafe is a small eatery that was originally an Oasis Class exclusive. It offers assorted sandwiches, salads and beverages. I'd recommend trying their roast beef sandwich, it's very good.

The new bridges, Oasis Bar and deck mounted portholes that look down the side of the ship. All added during her lengthening.

Great pictures! I found the last one to be pretty neat!! I have never seen that on any other Royal ships.

Wonderful pictures. You mentioned that you sailed on Monarch several times. Wondering how you would compare the two. We have sailed on Monarch and Majesty and enjoyed them and have booked the Enchantment for 2015.

While I'll always miss the old Monarch, there really isn't much comparison between the two. The EN has so many more features than MN did. She has six hot tubs, MN had two. She has a Solarium, Chops, bungee trampolines, regular balcony cabins, Park Café and more.

We all kept saying how great it is that RCI has her stationed at PC, she's just a great ship. By all rights she should still be doing longer cruises with her impressive feature list and recent renovations. It seems like cruise lines always put their oldest and smallest doing the short runs.

Thanks! I believe she is the only one that has those glass floors out over the side of the ship.

Great review of the Enchantment. I am reliving my cruise thru your pics. I was on that same cruise and will post a review later this week, probably on Friday when I am off from work.

The Enchantment is a great ship to replace the Monarch. The Enchantment is quickly becoming on of my favorite ships in the fleet after 1 sailing.

Thanks for the photos. I am sorry I did not get to meet you - once on board I just kind of collapsed!

I think Enchantment is one of the most beautiful ships in the fleet. We sailed on her twice out of Port Everglades and now added Port Canaveral. She is a much better ship for the 4 nighter with the sea day than Monarch. We sailed on Monarch a number of times, just because of location. I see more Enchantment sailings in our future.

I did a mini review/comparison of the 3 night Enchantment and 2 night Vision cruises.

Hey Grady:

Thanks for the pics. What was the top tier event like on the Enchantment? We'll be sailing on her in June and that will also be our first Royal cruise where we will be eligible for a top tier event. :D

The event we went to was held before arriving in Nassau on day 2. It was held in Viking Crown Lounge and was rather nice with Anna playing the piano and the staff kept their remarks short and sweet. :D

Drinks included champagne, mimosas, wine, and rum punch. Might have been other choices, not sure. The food served was finger foods including wings and a selection of hot and cold appetizers including a few with sprinkles of caviar.

Tapi, temple1 pretty much covered it. It was the morning of day 2 before we got to Nassau. Free drinks and hors d'oeuvres for a little while. I have some pics of it, I'll post them up when I get home today. Congrats on making Platinum!

Okay, We were sitting near the piano - we did not see any helmet clad guests so you must have been there in disguise.

Hi,

Thanks for posting your review and excellent pictures. I was on this same cruise (Nov. 15 to 18) and was very pleased with this ship. The Enchantment of the Seas is very well-maintained and attractive. Also, I enjoyed the food and service. I had a standard outside stateroom on Deck 3 (3554) and was impressed with the storage space and very large window. This was a great cruise (the only negative was the fact that the cruise was too short). I cruised aboard the Monarch of the Seas last year and agree that the Enchantment of the Seas is a big improvement. I certainly recommend this ship.

Chuck

I knew I should have copywrited that term when I first used after Majesty in 2007!
