Carnival Liberty docking in San Juan

The pier is in Old San Juan. You can walk to the forts and other points of interest right from where the ship docks. Though, for persons who have mobility issues, walking may be difficult because it is very hilly and many of the streets are cobblestone.

And the sidewalks are about 24 inches wide, no curb cuts.

All three times I have been to Old San Juan the free trolleys were packed with people and hard to get on at times. It was faster sometimes to walk due to the traffic in Old San Juan.

The key to good trolley use I found was to get on them early. Waiting until later in the day, they're jam packed. I also found 2 weeks ago, that they don't seem to be running them as often compared to last year, making crowding worse.
