Do you receive these offers in an email or snail mail? Just curious! I usually throw away "junk mail" without opening it.... Hmmmmmmm, I wonder if I threw away a free cruise? lol

 

I received my offer in the mail. I usually don't open a lot of junk mail, but this time I am glad I did.

 

When I went online to check the offers they listed it as a different promo code than the one I received in the mail. Ultimately the offer was the same pay $50 PP and receive $100 OBC for an inside cabin. Customer must pay Port and Taxes. Balcony upgrades available. I then clicked on the fine print listed in the offer and found out that better offers were provided to other customers such as a free balcony and casino cash.

A few weeks ago a friend of mine said she got offered a free cruise but she had to turn it down because she had to go on a certain date and she couldn't go then. She told me she kept getting calls from a 305 area code, kept ignoring it and finally answered when they offered it to her. She swears it was Carnival, she said they told her she only had to pay port fees and when she asked what the catch was they told her that business has been hurt by all the bad press and they just want to get people cruising and telling their friends to cruise. She had only been on ONE cruise?? Why dont they offer me freebies. I assume because they know ill jump at the offer:D but... I'd say I'm one of their best cheerleaders!! I'm always telling people to go on cruises!! CALL ME!! CALL ME!!:eek:

I have 23 cruise on CCL. On the last 10 at least I have spent 3000 to 5000K in the casino... Never once have I received an offer from the casino fro even a discounted cruise.... So if these are real, I don't know what triggers getting one. Unless they assume they don't need to bribe me to cruise.....

I have read hundreds if not thousands of posting here on Cruise critic. So I am very aware that some people will never believe anything if it doesn't happen to them. I simply was sharing my happiness and very good luck with others. I was so happy about it that I not only posted but created an account just so I could open a thread. I've received comps from other cruise lines but NOTHING Like this! Certainly nothing worthy of posting about. The fare from Australia is just under $1200. We have decided to stay a few extra days since we will probably not make it back to that part of the world. The first offer was for interior with option to upgrade for around $100 dollars more. The second which came with "maximum" of 2 sailings did not have the cabin upgrade but did allow for 2 cabins on same sailing. That includes the Fiji sailing. However, It's unlikely that anyone I know can take that much time off from work. (Ive had to jump thru a million hoops to get the time off myself) I'm trying to "convince" my son to go to Alaska with the third as we have never been there. It's still up in air as its been hard enough trying to juggle arrangements for the plans we've made so far. When I spoke to carnival rep regarding these offers she said that there has been a significant increase in bookings over the past few weeks. The comment about it not being how much you play but how you play makes the most sense to me. I most always max bet when i play. I figure everyone else is playing the minimum and i can increase "my odds" if i bet differently than the herd. Who knows why they sent then to me!!! Carnival will be greatly disappointed if they think they will get the cost of these cruises from me... You can't get blood from a turnip...and I rarely drink. Once or twice a year I will have a cocktail. At any rate you can take it or leave it. I just wanted to share my good fortune. FYI the first offer came in the mail from carnival. If it hadn't been Xmas time I probably would have thrown it away. I've not opened there letters in ages. However, my friends were thinking of booking the Super Bowl cruise. So I opened it. Had to call carnival to make sure it wasn't a scam. She assured me it was not. Within days of booking the first offer the second offer was online in my "special rate" section. I have no idea if I've tossed out other offers. But I assure you I will open them from now on. Lol. Happy sailings to all... Even happier ones when there free.

I don't post on Cruise Critic very often due to how mean people can be but I thought I would add my 2 cents in on this subject. I returned from the Glory in December with a free cruise offer from the players club. I was given an envelope while playing in the casino on the last night. It was an offer for a free interior on any 3-8 day cruise. I very politely told the casino host thank you while inside my head I am saying yeah right, a free cruise. I have only been on 3 cruises so I had no idea they actually did this.

 

I called a few days ago and wow it was real! Now going on the Dream in April, upgraded to a cove balcony for 180 pp. Finally getting my DH on a cruise (who can resist free?)

 

Just an FYI, I played every day in the casino, spent a total of 675 dollars, only played penny slots. I had approx. 3500 points on my S & S card. Not sure why I got one but the host was handing out quite a few envelopes that night. Just my thoughts on the subject.

I guess I got a free cruise too.. 359 for 8 night balcony on breeze includes everything taxes insurance & gratuities. 718 for 2 of us . Never spent more than 1000 bucks in casino & haven't cruised with carnival in years don't like carnival but for that price I love them

I received 3 free sailings (I have to pay tax and fees) from Carnival's casino in less than a week. I havnt sailed with them in years. And for those skeptics... no, I didn't spend a bunch of money in casino (less than $1000 over 8 cruises) when I did gamble, but I did win a jackpot. I booked the mother-load..23 days to Fiji, Tahiti, Bora Bora, to Australia. Cost me less than $500 for the 2 of us....I've seen where others were given 1, but never 3.

 

That's great!! Enjoy your cruise and ignore the haters. You do not have to prove to anyone that you got 3 free cruises.

If you look at the fee's taxes and port fees you will see they range from $37.06 to $319.82. You won't pay fees and taxes of $319 for a 7 day Caribbean cruise. With all the people on this site I'm SURE there are lots of people that have gotten the same offer. Perhaps some of those platinum and diamond cruisers got that way BY COMPS!! :eek: They just don't want their cruise critic buddies to know they're sailing for FREE! I'm sorry for posting the extremely long terms and condition page but I was getting offended.

I think I was having a few sour grapes because everybody seems to be getting these free cruises. I'm on a roll call where about 10 people have now joined saying they are sailing because they got a free cruise. Then to hear of a 23 days cruise for basically free just seems unbelievable. Plus the fact of it being one of your first posts just made me think "troll" I understand now that these repositioning cruises especially to Australia are hard to fill. Not everyone can get away for 3 weeks and then to having to fly back can be pretty expensive. So, that is probably why they are happy to fill the ship by awarding free cruises. Again, I do apologize and hope that you have a fantastic time!!

Anjoliza, it's ok. I think I'm a bit defensive. Please forgive me for singling you out. That was inappropriate. But I promise what I'm posting is true. I COMPLETLY UNDERSTAND HOW UNBELIEVABLE IT SOUNDS. However, If I had posted I was paying for 3 sailings in the next 11 months. Then one might have more reason to question it. Lol. And in all honesty, I now really think a lot more people get these offers than are willing to say. Perhaps they are living under the pretense of doing more than they actually are. I hope you get an offer soon. But I don't suggest you max bet to get it. Trust me it goes quickly. And your right these are my first post. But imagine if you were me and had this happen. You'd probably want to share it also. Especially with people who enjoy cruising. Kinda like letting others know it can happen to anyone. :o

Whew!! Finally someone else that seen first hand, knows and believes. Thanks for posting. I hope your mother enjoys her cruises. By chance, do you know her guess as to how/why she got the offers? Like I said, I think it's because I max bet. But I don't know for certain.

A coworker received the free balcony w. Cash back offer but he plays tables where my Mom is slots only. Regardless,cruising at a reduced or discounted rate is a Blessing- Enjoy it! I was more than Happy to cover my half of the taxes $145* 8 days-cruising in May!

I am happy for everyone too...and just the shopping deals we all can help each other with on all of the cruise lines..I am not anti any and so happy to hear just as many pros as cons..probably more pros with all of them in spite of economy...I may get my next cruise this year instead of next as planned...hoooray for all...we are very fortunate to even consider it..the statistics for how fortunate we are are astounding when you look at the world...someone just sent me one of those things that says if you have this or that you are better than x amount of the world..all circumstances way below being able to travel...whenever i feel sorry with my tight belt..I am going to read it...Happy cruising all and thanks for sharing!!!

I agree!! Highly possible to get 3 letters but no way can they use one of them on a 23 day cruise!!! As other posters have indicated, the free crusies are on selected cruises not any cruise.

I got the offer for the free cruise too and it DID offer over 40 cruises including a 23 day cruise to Hawaii. I booked a 7 day western Caribbean and it is paid in full (taxes and port fees), my sister is my plus 1 and she is thrilled to death. I also have two other casino cruise offers in my VIFP. One for Premier Casino cruise on select cruises, 55% off plus $600 in casino cash, free drinks and all sorts of special treatment and gifts. I have to book by 2/7. I also have another offer of 45% off plus $50 on select cruises that I have to book by March. That makes three just like the OP.

 

I have only cruised twice but spent a lot of time in the casino. I did not lose much of my own money, however I ALWAYS play max bet and when I hit, I play with my winnings unless it is a substantial win, like in the thousands, or a jackpot. I will cash out a jackpot. I think you have to be a winner to get the special treatment. It is that way in land-based casinos too. If you hit a jackpot, they will woo you with offers until the end of time. They want their money back. That's just my theory.

Yes, on the single cruise offer there were penalties if you don't sail. And I believe it was the full price. I always buy insurance, but have never been told I "have" to buy it. The other offer (Tahiti) had the same terms as a "normal" booking. I can cancel up until June and still get a full refund. Hope that helps
