Last minute questions re azura

Recommended Posts

Hi looming in on our azura trip, a couple of questions,do we need to take coat hangers, can we pay our bar bill tips etc at end of cruise with a credit card or cash?thanks

Coat hangers are provided, if you need more just ask the steward.

Bar tips are included in the price of the drinks which are charged to your onboard account so no need to tip unless you want to pass some extra cash to your favourite bar staff.

It's all cashless except, I think, for the casino where you can't charge your chips to your cabin. They'll take an imprint of your CC on embarkation or, ask for a deposit if you want to pay the final bill in cash. They say they take a pre-authorisation on your card for the amount spent each day but that didn't happen to me. I changed my nominated card on the second last day and they charged the total to that - there were no daily pre-authorisations made on the card I gave them on embarkation.

Have a great holiday!

Hello.

You can get coat hangers on board. In relation to tips, they are included in the bill drinks but it will be charged on your account.

You register a credit card when you check in. All your on board spend is charged to your account. The auto tips is the first thing to go on. At the end of your cruise you get printed bill which is charged to your credit card without any further action from you. You can view your account at any time on your cabin TV.

If you want to pay off all or part of your account you can do this by depositing cash at reception at any time.

You can also obtain dollars or sterling from reception, which is charged to your account. The exchange rate for dollars is published in Horizon. There is no charge for withdrawing sterling.

The coat hangers on most P&O ships (I don't know if this specifically applies to Azura) are the type where there isn't a hook, there's a little button on top that fits into a fitting that slides along the rail. If this sort of coat hanger is a nuisance (eg. you're not tall enough to use it easily, or it just bugs you) you might want to take a few of your own.

I hate those wooden hangers which slot into little hooks - they take up far too much room and are not good for my temper! If we are cruising from Southampton I take everything already on wire hangers and take them straight from the case to the rail - easy. If, however, it's a fly cruise then I always ask for extra hangers from the steward - I asked for a dozen last time and they are always the wire hangers. I have sometimes taken the wooden P&O hangers out of the wardrobe and put them in our empty cases under the bed and then replaced them in the wardrobe when we are disembarking.

The hangers the stewards will provide are always the wire ones - takes up much less room!
